Wait, "amine"? Is that a misspelling? I have no knowledge of the French language but I assume this might be an anime adaptation?

[Editor's Note:Update: Viz Europe notified ANN that no anime is planned for now in Japan. Tonkam revised its Facebook post to remove the mention.]

... A TV series? ONA/OVA? What are you talking about?

The French publisher said there will be an amine.

According to wikipedia: Amines are organic compounds and functional groups that contain a basic nitrogen atom with a lone pair. Amines are derivatives of ammonia, wherein one or more hydrogen atoms have been replaced by a substituent such as an alkyl or aryl group.[1] Important amines include amino acids, biogenic amines, trimethylamine, and aniline; see Category:Amines for a list of amines. Inorganic derivatives of ammonia are also called amines, such as chloramine (NClH2); see Category:Inorganic amines.

So, there will be a new atom combinaison named "Shokugeki no soma".

Eheh, it's obviously a typo. French is my native language, and it only means what I said up here, even in French.

An anime isn't hard to believe. The chapters are in the mid 70's, and its incredibly popular among readers in Jump. I was wondering when an anime would come, and I hope it comes pretty soon. But I'm not expecting it until some time next year probably...

When I saw pre-orders for this manga, I was very tempted. Sounds interesting, but was unsure about actually ordering it.

Would like to see an anime come out, just to get a taste (hehehe) of it to see if I would like to pick up the manga.

I would ask if you liked Yakitate Japan. I think that is probably the show that is the most similar to Souma right down to the judges have ridiculous displays when eating food.

I guess it's not a misspelling, if you read it carefully, you will find at least two "amine" in that news. If it is misspelled, then one of it will be "anime", not "amine".

Yes! I know an anime adaptation is pretty much inevitable for Shokugeki no Souma, but I'm still excited as hell for it!
Hopefully it'll get an enthusiastic studio, and a highly experienced director to do it.

Not seen that one. Any particular episodes I should check out? Not in a place where I can dedicate myself to adding a 69 ep series to my watch list. Laughing

About time it gets an anime mention, after World Triggers announcement two weeks ago had been hoping that one for Food Wars would be in the pipeline. Now we just need Assassination Classroom and Saiki Kusuo (beyond their short anime last year).

I hope Food War's ends up in Kyoto Animations had, their animators and character designers would really give the characters good anime designs, theyd also do many of the foods good.

I'd love to see KyoAni do this one! Since they usually do a very good job with their adaptions. But, SNS doesn't really seem like the type of series they'd go for. I'd like to see it by BONES as well but that doesn't seem too likely either. I'm thinking it will probably be done by Madhouse or a lesser studio. Most JUMP titles tend to be adapted by "lesser studios" with the exception of Nisekoi. I just hope Toei doesn't get it.

I agree that Kyoani might do a good job - I don't trust Bones really since they didn't do that good a job of Noragami. The animation was nice but a lot of the story was flattened and it was made into a more generic shounen.

Either way it needs to be a studio who can do pretty animation. One of SNS's best assets is its impressive art which is consistently pretty.

And the Nisekoi anime had a shoddy job done with it. Shaft be trippin'.
I'd say Madhouse or Brains-Base should get it.

Well then, time to reconsider pre-ordering the manga...
