Seems like a decent price, and not just by Aniplex standards. The only problem is it's DVD only, and I can get it from CR in 720.

The set looks quite nice, but it's a DVD only so I don't think i'll be getting this... If a BD release comes around i'll get it for sure, so i'll just wait and see what happens.

I do not plan to buy this set. But if I were, I would not have an issue with it being on DVD; its art is simple and the animation is not complex. I bought the better looking Blast of Tempest on DVD from Aniplex USA, and it looks good enough to me.

By the way, I doubt there will be an imported BD box set of Servant x Service in the future. Oreimo got a BD box set because it is very popular in Japan; SxS is not.

YES. Servant x Service was my favourite show last year and I can't wait to own it.

And for god's sakes, who cares if it has a dub or not. You should be glad that it's even getting released at all.

AoA uses CR as a place where those who want to watch a show without paying large amounts of money for a physical release can do so. The physical release wasn't meant for someone like yourself.

Also, Servant x Service was low-budget and the visuals weren't too hot, so there's no real difference watching in 576p as opposed to 720p. A BR release would have been wasted on that show.

I was talking to a friend about dubs in anime and had an idea. If a show seems popular enough (like Attack on Titan or Toradora) then putting a dub on it to reach more consumers makes sense in terms of having less risk with the spending for that dub. But if the show is clearly niche and people are still complaining about the lack of a dub, then there could be a sort of kickstarter-esque system where if people really want the dub, they can put their money where their mouth is and support the funding for that dub. That'll also help licensing companies know whether or not it's worth spending extra for a dub on any given show where it's hard to decide on.

I love some dubs, but I wouldn't complain about paying less for no dub when people who beg for the dub don't even buy it when it is dubbed.

Speaking of, to everyone who has b&*#@ed about NISA never dubbing their shows....if you don't buy their dubbed re-release of Toradora, just shut your hole for eternity, please.

My fiance and I really enjoyed this show. Wish there were more like it, from an adults point of view. I will consider adding this to my collection Very Happy

Has AoA ever released anime with dubs, but for DVD only? If not, then they should if a title is decently popular, but doesn't have enough visual shine to justify a Blu-Ray, since Sentai and FUNi both do this (the latter moreso, due to only recently starting sub-only releases). Me, I don't care about video quality, so long as I can get it dubbed in some format (in case you haven't noticed, I generally prefer dubs; I even have a blog post on it).

Oh man, I'll be all over this one. Don't give a shit about a dub (I like hybrids because it's always nice to have a choice, but I don't really care) and I can't believe the, "zomg, this anime comedy with standard production values SIMPLY cannot be visually appreciated without the exquisite glory of Blu-ray" crowd. Another sad triumph of mindless hype over common sense.

Decent price by AoA standards, too.

Probably true since the Magi DVD is not bad, but unlike for something like SxS, which agreed doesn't really need it, I would still like to see Blast of Tempest get a BD release some day since it was a rather good looking show (and I think it's setting and staff involved should have garnered it a dub for more people to check it out).

True. A dub ought to have had garnered a bigger audience for, the more or less niche, Blast of Tempest. But the majority of that potential new audience was not going to pay Aniplex USA prices. Therefore, creating a dub for Blast of Tempest was going to be a waste of money for Aniplex USA.

BD would have been nice for Blast of Tempest, but I doubt it will happen in the future.
