Combofiend clarify that this mode is for offline only. Which makes sense because the vanilla characters were very OP. Sagat can take off like 70% off your health with one combo lol

I really think this was a pointless add-on. All the work you did by asking the fanbase on what buffs/nerfs to give and you toss it out the window by saying 'If you don't like it, pick whatever you want.' And I won't be surprised if they allowed this at tournaments. I mean, they allow it for Hyper Street Fighter s.

I never thought I'd say this, but I'm interested in picking up SF4 again.

Certainly can't recall of any recent tourneys that features Hyper SF2, unless you're talking about some obscure Japanese tourney. If anything, I imagine most organizers would only allow Edition Select as a side tournament to run separately from an actual tournament of Ultra SF4. And Alex Valle said it best, 'change the characters all you want, the players will stay the same'.

unfortunately this is an uber waste of time and money. why would they make this version when the arcade edition is more balanced?

Also they should have made it for the PS4 and XBox One considering all of the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions arent compatible at all.

so its as i said, unless there is a ps4 and xbox one version its just another waste of time and money for both capcom and the sucker who want to buy this add on.

This is a cute little bonus and send off of the SF4 series and nothing more, it's not meant to be a "pick whatever you like" thing as it won't be tournament legal or allowed in online matches.

Oh wow so you've played finished version of Ultra? and played it enough to know that arcade edition is more balanced? please tell me more.

Of course not jackass since its obviously haven't been released yet.

PLEASE READ THE COMMENTS BEFORE QUOTING & THEN POSTING UBER BS!! IT WILL PREVENT YOU FROM LOOKING LIKE AN @$$ IN FRONT OF EVERYONE HERE

for one this this version is obviously going to have the same character unbalancing issues as SSFIV & Arcade Edition cause its been capcom's mo when they release these updated versions in an effort to milk as much money as possible towards a game. they did the exact same thing when SF II was released. and thejr gonna have the same animation too. the only difference is the new characters.

Also as I stated before a majority of us have the PS4 and Xbox One and their releasing it on systems that arent compatible which is the main issue. sure there are still people that have their PS3 and Xbox 360, but most of us have moved on from those systems and gotten their next gen consoles.

so its as i said, unless there is an next gen release , its a waste of time, money and resources on capcom's part where it would have been used in probably getting out Street Fighter 5.

I think business wise it makes a lot more sense to release it on the consoles people already bought SF4 on. They know the user base is there, and, even if some moved on, they probably still have their old system if they still are playing AE. There's also a pretty good bet they were working on this well before any there were any plans to release anything on Xbox One/PS4, so it would've been a colossal waste of money to suddenly re-do everything to fit it on the newer systems. Even if they had the ability to code it as such, at the time of development there was no knowledge on if PS3/360 arcade sticks, which are a vital part of the community, would be useable on the newer systems. All in all, complaining that it's a PS3/360 release seems really out of place once you consider the details.

Also dude, you might not want to freak out and put bold all caps when your claim that

The target for Ultra is fighting game players. When did they move on to next gen? They're still currently playing on the PS3/360. If Capcom tried to force the FGC to upgrade to next gen for Ultra THAT would have been a problem and a terrible business decision. Kinda makes you look like an ass to complain that they didn't.

Maybe 10 million vs 160 million+? Um that's not a majority. No, most people have previous gen systems. It's not even debatable. Most people are still buying previous gen games and systems.

They are releasing the game on systems that they already have worked on and have the game actually running on, the most people have, and the systems people who care about this game and will buy it already have.

Actually no. Why do you think a lot of these next gen games have previous gen versions? Because there is a huge audience that hasn't and won't move to new systems. This is hardly a waste of resources. These upgrades sell exactly to the audience they are made for, which happens to have previous gen systems because well where do you think they bought SF4 before?

You simply do not know what you are talking about.

Though Ono has teased a PS4 port. Thats what it would be though, just a port. SF4 is still very alive and still selling. There is no reason for SF5 right now.

However, this is the exact same mistake they made with SFII making multiple versions of a great game that was not necessary. and nearly cost capcom dearly.

sure the ultra game have new characters, but its definitely not worth the $39.99 price tag just to play new characters, which is the main beef. if it was like $19.99 or they have it as an add on for that price, then i wont have a problem with it , but $39.99 is like a price tag for a brand new game for some especially for those that have played SFIV , SSFIV , SSFIV:AC and SSFIV:AC 2012 version already. especially considering that the 2012 version of Arcade edition is the better one.

sure i like updates and all , but not for the price of a brand new game. especially considering a majority of capcom's other games didn't do so hot. and if it is about the money and profits if it does well, it would have made sense to release it for all the consoles. its as i said before, if you have never played any of the SFIV versions , then by all means its a must have, but if so, getting ultra isnt worth the price tag.

Ono said it's not final yet. They may still bring it online endless mode.

Tournament doesn't matter. Most people don't go to tournament. Like 2+ millions bought SF4, you tell me how many % of them go to tournaments. If you made a game target a small group, it will fail bad.

What? Cost Capcom dearly? How? SF2 and it's updates have not only been popular, but also some of Capcom's best selling titles. Turbo, Plus, and Super are in the top 50. Didn't hurt Capcom at all. It's Three's reception that put the pause on the series, but that was after plenty of Alpha games as well. So what mistake are you talking about?

For you, but not for everybody. It's the best place to jump in for new people which happens very frequently or it's the best place for those who want to get back in and haven't picked up the other versions. Or those who just want a physical copy.

For someone who was raging at others about being uninformed you sure come off as the most uninformed person here. You don't have to pay $39.99 for the physical disk. If you have the arcade version you can simply pay $14.99 for the digital expansion. So you shouldn't have any beef now.

Really enjoying the fact that you're complaining about this practice while proclaiming AE as the best one. Did you raise the same fuss when they came out with AE? I look forward to the future where you complain that there doesn't need to be more SF because Ultra is already the best.
