I really hope the end of the manga encourages an anime remake.... either that or I'll totally look for this show's DVDs at Anime Boston/Anime Central and all other cons I go to this year! w00000~

It really isn't a "remake" by any means. If anything it's more of a sequel of sort.
It's very much what Angel Heart is to City Hunter - it's kind of a sequel, with a somewhat reimagined background.
But not a remake.

So it's a remakequel, then, I guess?

I really hope to see it getting anime treatment like Angel Heart did (which I wish if they make more of). Though getting the original cast for Cat's eye may not be easy though I would prefer it and love it.
Sight, I wish to see Cat's Eye, City Hunter, and Angel Heart manga getting licensed.

Kind of yeah.
The point of the matter is that it's not a retelling of the original, it actually takes places a yeah after the sisters have stopped looking for their father's painting and go into something different. But kind of like Angel Heart, you're gonna see some characters of the the origin manga... but with sometimes a somwhat different background, while some of the other charaters don't appear at all.
