Oh man, if they make this available in North America will we finally be able to play the Chocobo World game for Final Fantasy VIII? I'VE WAITED SO LONG.

I imported a pocketstation back when FF8 came out. Choboco World is a pretty good simplistic dungeon crawler and the tresure I got from it was good for weapon upgrades and blue magic(I never had to steal items for this). Too bad I couldn't use the IR feature because I had the only pocketstation in town!

Anyone else notice that this is a PS Vita only. Why not PSP, PS3, or even PS4?
This means I have to get a Vita to use it for FFVIII, despite FFVIII being a console game originally. I don't really play handhelds, so this is an issue.

Maybe because Sony finally decided to promote the PSVita for once?
On that note, it's amazing how few good PSVita exclusive games (or at least ones that I would enjoy) there are. Almost everything that comes out is available on PSP as well, so I really have no reason to upgrade from my PSP-2000.

I wouldn't expect this app to leave Japan. Final Fantasy VIII is like the only localized PSone game to keep its PocketStation functionality.

God Eater 2 looks to be the last high profile PSV/PSP game (it's really the last high profile PSP game in general) and that's a case where I can't see anyone in a position to own a Vita wanting to play that on PSP. As far as localizations go, it's just the Vita versions leaving Japan anyways.

While Sony still makes PSP it's quite clear that they're done supporting that platform (it will be 10 years old next year). PocketStation was a portable device, so it makes sense to keep that going on a portable platform.
