Since AS can play up to TVMA shows I don't imagine they'll have to edit too much. I haven't seen much of the series though.

I believe that comment just means Cartoon Network reserves the right to edit the show, as they do with any show they acquire. Not that they will for sure. Hopefully that stops any panics.

The better question is this: will they release more of this on DVD than they did of Cyborg 009?

Spiritual: Probably. Cyborg 009 and Astroboy just couldn't find the right audience. At least companies are stll taking a chance on Tezuka and Ishinomori's more mature works, though.

Ah... Someone else who gets sqeamish about the words "licensed by Sony".
GATSU's question was a better troll though.

Perhaps they can edit out the 45 seconds in each episode where Saya and Haji look at each other in silence, followed by Haji saying "Saya".

I really wished that Sony did a giant box set release of Cyborg 009 it's one of the few shows that I love to watch back during it's Toonami run.

Ya I guess so basically because of Sony's track record we're all a bit worried......and it's not like Blood+ has a great track record to begin with.

Editing for broadcast would probably basically mean cutting out some footage to account for the longer episode lengths that Japanese programming has in comparison to North American television. I remember when Wolf's Rain aired there were some issues with what they chose to cut, especially near the end because the episodes were longer since the opening was not included in the Japanese episodes.

Im not to worried about the editing due to gore and what not, though towards the end of the series, and some at the "origin" portions I'm sure they will. I'm just curious about wether they are going to stress the many anti-imperial american tendancies like the japanese version did. While [as] is owned by time warner and they don't care what all they say about the US, I would still be shocked if they allowed the series to press it as hard as it was intended to be.
None the less, it is still a good series and fans of Hellsing, Blood the last Vampire, and basically any of the horror/drama genre will most likely enjoy it.
