I remember someone suggesting this anime to me a while back when I asking about assassin series' and then I learned that FUNimation had liscensed it. I decided to check it out by skimming through the manga, and got hooked I have now bought up to vol. 5 of it and am awaiting the next one. So, what my question is is basically does anyone know if the series does a good job of following the manga?

Actually it does a pretty crappy job of following the manga, since it's mostly different, except it jumps around a lot. For me, the start of the Black Cat anime is really good, but I think it really starts falling apart towards the end as they really start condensing the story arcs into small two-three episode spans. I'd say check it out, since it has a different, but very cool start, but I'm enjoying the manga much more in the five volumes I've read myself over the anime, where I was mostly tuned out by the time it reached its final episodes.

I've seen the first eight or so episodes it's not bad. The story and characters were pretty interesting and from the preview I've seen it seems to have another one of Funi's excellent dubs. I was going to pick it up and finish it once I get through with some other stuff I'm watching. Haven't read the manga though so I couldn't comment there.

i wasnt going to answer this becasue i haven't read the manga but i HAVE seen the anime and i think they did a good job on the music and their animation and coloring for the fights, i loved Black Cat for awhile but towards the end it kinda started to make lose interest and went through things a little too fast but it was still good

The anime does start off really good. Fresh and exciting, but towards the end they do start condensing everything and it feels rushed. The series was originally supposed to be double the length (I believe), but I heard that funding got cut off for one reason or another and they had to do some cuts!
