I have a question regarding some of ADV's Excel Saga releases. The single disc volumes as well as the IMPerfect Collection box set have a special feature that is a bonus subtitle track with information about the show and trivia and what not. I was just curious to know, does the Thinpak collection have the bonus subtitles as well? I can't find any information as to whether or not the Thinpak comes with it, and I'll end up buying the IMPerfect collection if the Thinpak is missing them.

No, it doesn't, to my dismay. They only have ADV previews on one disc for Extras.

The Abenobashi thinpack does not have the AD-Vid notes, so it's pretty safe to assume that the Excel Saga thinpack does not have them either. Thus, the IMPerfect collection is heavily recommended--though some people don't care for the extra notes, they're worthwhile, and there are other extras as well. You can probably find the Imperfect Collection for pretty much the same price as the thinpack anyway.
That reminds me, I've been meaning to start an "ADV Thinpack vs. Singles" reference thread in the Retail Forum...

The note bubbles are very important to enhance the show's humor. I would suggest you get the imperfect collection wherever you find it available, since it's probably gonna go out of print. I hear it's been available at certain Best Buy outlets for like 20 bucks recently.

The Ad-vid notes are an amazing source of info into Excel's gags if you're not already an anime/japan buff, I highly reccomend you get them.
If you don't care for boxes, the single releases came with odd lil' knick-knacks tucked into the liner notes... mini-poster, excel face puzzle, board game, sumo game, etc. Cute stuff.
And lastly- if anyone out there is willing to part with their Imperfect collection box, please PM me! I'd hate to buy the whole series over again for an artbox!

Those notes are really great. The other extras are fun too. You can find all six volumes on the Rightstuf's bargain bin for about the same price as the thinpak. I momentarily forgot there were only six DVDs since ADV almost always stretches out there 24-26 episode series onto seven, and there 12-13 episode series on four. There is no reason for seven discs for Peacemaker or 4 for Area 88.
