Are there any plans to release Bobobo uncut on DVD? It is owned by Toei so hopefully they won't sell the show to a certain company. Like they did with all their other shows.

Viz Media has the license to Bobobo-bobo-bobo, but they haven't made any annoucements of whether the series will be released uncut or not. Viz haven't even announced when they will release the Toonami version of the series. All I can say is stay tuned. Wink

They've got the manga. Not the anime.

Yes they do. It was announced on February 16, 2005. Source.

Also check Anime on DVD's Licensing List.

That's not what Viz said at Comic Con. Toei Animation brought Bobobo over themselves.

I'm searching through old news archives and can't find any announcement on 2/16/05, or even in February 05, saying Viz Media has licensed Bobobo.

Hmm, wierd that Anime on DVD would have an error like that. That is, if it is an error. They must have gotten their information from somewhere, my guess is they just got it confused with the manga though. The news here (including a press release) says it was licensed by Toei as well as the Encyclopedia. Because of that I'm going with ANN, as I'm sure they didn't pull that press release out of nowhere. With the recent news, it definately matters who it's licensed by, since it will mean the difference of it getting released on DVD or not.
