Think they'll raise the $480k again to match episode 1? Or was it $370k with the falling yen?

I wonder if they realize that by asking for money for one episode they'll end up getting enough for a lot more than that...

Sweet! I'm very willing to support this. I thought that the short was a lot of fun and I'm willing to help get another one made. I think that this could be a good potential extension of what Kick-Heart started. It'll probably never fund series, but if it can support short OVAs, I think that's worth it.
This will probably have to be a pretty big ask if they want another 25 minutes with the same quality of animation. I can't help but feel that there's a real risk that this won't work out and the possibilities will have to stop escalating eventually. Still, this could mean something for the possibilities of crowdfunding, so it's worth a shot.
What I'm really curious about is if this is affecting, even if necessarily in a very narrow way or just potentially, the relationship between Japanese studios and the west. One thing that I'm not clear on is whether residents of Japan can contribute directly to Kickstarter campaigns and if they can, whether they do or not. Any expectations or assessments should stay humble, but an interesting dynamic could emerge for projects like this.
Inferno Cop was silly awesome, Kill La Kill looks badass as Hell and the Little Witch Academia short was adorably cool, so Trigger is quickly becoming one of my favorite studios.

The thing I do like here is that it forces them to keep the quality and their game at the peak, constantly, or the next one may see troubles getting funded.
Or it could ever up like vidya gaems where everything is funded no questions asked. Still, piecemeal seems more viable than asking "hey, gibbe $1.8 million for series."

Imaishi and Trigger have a lot of fans but I wonder if they'll be as financially supportive as the Kick Heart and Time of Eve projects. Those two strike me as something that hits an audience with more disposable income and strong loyalty than standard anime fare. I'll be curious to see how this does. Hope it does well for Trigger.

I'd love to see more than just another episode ... come on Japan are you really telling me you don't see the potential of this series as a 1-cours (or more)?

Seeing the acclaim the first short got, I can see them making what they need. If Kill La Kill blows up, hopefully Aniplex will fund an actual series.

If Time of Eve can get funded successfully, this can as well.

I wonder if they'll include stretch goals like adding an English dub as well.

I'll support it, but I'm surprised they can't get support through traditional means to do a whole series.
