Anyone know if FUNimation is planning to release a boxset of FMA after it releases all the DVDs? Anyone have an estimation of a price too? I know one exists of the Japanese version but no guarentees it gets bundled state-side.

Thanks.

FUNI hasn't announced any boxsets yet. I'm sure they will release some sets at some point, but probably not for a while. And I'm sure there will be multiple sets, not the whole series in one set.

yea, most likely a box for each season... or maybe every 13 eps if they really feel like milking it. I also doubt they'll release them for another year as they're gonna wanna milk the current released dvds for as much as they're worth.

I agree--FMA isn't one of those titles where the company says, "Oh noes, people aren't buying these DVDs! We'd better bundle 'em up in a boxed set for a lower price to try to make a bit of money!" No, they'll keep selling the singles for awhile, and they probably won't release a set of the whole series--you just don't see boxed sets with much more than 30 episodes. Funimation generally takes its time on boxed sets, often 1-2 years after the last disc is released. My guesses on distribution are 2 sets (7/6) or 3 sets (5/4/4) to mirror the discs in the tins.

Yeah I have this feeling people won't be seeing a FMA boxset anytime soon, the DVDs sell extremely well and look at Ebay used disc are still going at a premium price. I think that a boxset may be somewhere way down the line, and probably package with 13 episodes in each.

The one case that I felt that there was a boxset so quickly after the final dvds was Samurai Champloo. Maybe I am off on time but it feels like volume seven came out not too long ago, and yet the boxset is already out. Make ya think how each company likes to handle their properties.
Till next time,
