This literally made my day. In my opinion YTV is finally going all out to get good anime and i'm really impressed. I think part of this is because of a top 10 poll they had last year about what were people's favourite shows on their station and the top 3 ended up to be anime. I honestly said the other day that as long as we got Bleach and Eureka 7 I wouldn't be any happier...now I'm just curious to know what else we get as usually they only end up adding either bad or older anime that i've already seen. I hated YTV for getting rid of most of my favourite non-anime shows that they air, but this definately makes up for it. I'm glad they didn't wait until their other series finished to start airing these either as they did with fullmetal alchemist. Very Happy

it brings me much pain due to the horrible dubbing on naruto and plot alterations... -_- ... now with eureka seven and bleach, 2 of my other favorites coming to YTV.... serioulsy the thought of great anime coming to YTV was good at first but after seeing how bad its been done it just breaks my heart...

call me a purist/otaku/loser/ but i would like anime in its orig format unedited and with subtitles... no more and no less...

What "plot alterations"? There are no "plot alterations" in Naruto. And besides, YTV has nothing to do with how the show is dubbed. E7 and Bleach are going to be handled much differently from how Naruto was handled.

Please don't base your entire perception of dubs off of how Naruto was handled.

You watch them air uncut, and subtitled anime... then you can watch your precious anime be wiped entirely from the network! How can people complain over this stuff? We are finally getting all the shows we want, now we gotta nitpick over something else. You ask for a cake, but then you say you don't like blueberry icing; nothings ever going to be perfect.

Like Pepperidge said, there are no "plot alterations." The only edits that will be in Bleach and Eureka 7 will be for the tv-airing only. From what I've seen so far, the actual edits for most of the series on YTV are actually very minimal. Since Naruto is aimed at a younger audience there needed to be more edits than usual. Sure they could air it uncut, but the japanese standards are much different than ours..

Bleach will be uncut, though, since it's being tailored for Adult Swim in the US. Eureka Seven will also be uncut, since it's the same deal, but I'm just hoping we get the full-length openings and endings. After all, there's absolutely no reason to cut them in Canada.

not yet at least.. well see how it progresses as it continues.. and no i dont based this on naruto alone... i am guilty however of not watching and following the N/A version of naruto.. heck even the most current eps im starting to loose interest in it... I've always been picky with anime coming to north america and becoming "mainstream".. then again thats just me...

wiped entirely from the network?... in N/A perhaps.. (a little offtopic here) but there will always be a medium on how anime will travel fansubbed... the good ol days of VHS fansubs to IRC and now to torrents... i just think people are missing out when they are ported to N/A.. when they are edited to suit N/A standards...

im probably wrong about this but isnt it more xpensive to have them dubbed than to have them subbed?...

[quote]wiped entirely from the network?[quote] I think he means that most north americans wont enjoy subbed anime like they'll enjoy dubbed anime.

if edits piss you off so much, buy the uncut DVDs (which, by the way, usually have subs) and shut up about it. Also, if a show is available uncut and subbed, support the animators and buy it legit, rather then supporting an illigal industry (fansubs of licenced material)...wow, I remind me a bit of zac(awnserman)...I need to go shoot myself now...

while it is MUCH cheaper to sub than to dub, subs have a very limited appeal that is unlikly to reach outside of the hardcore anime fandom so companies dub it to give it a wider appeal. Personally I prefer dubs (unless they are just really badly acted or edited) but to each his own.

Side note: Please don't be opne of those people who insists that Naruto was butchered. It was mildly edited and retained all of its coherence and as such, wasn't any more mature to begin with.

Most dubs that appear on Adult Swim have not been "edited" to suit North American standards at all. Eureka seveN certainly hasn't - it's more or less a straight translation, and I don't expect Bleach to be treated any differently.

Please stop making assumptions based on something you haven't even watched.

"Mainstream?" You don't like when more people are watching anime. You prefer it that it stays limited to the internet where it can't grow?

You realize that most anime companies release bilingual DVD's that have the uncut English version and Japanese version with subtitles? And unless the show is on Kids WB or 4Kids, most anime on television don't have many mind-boggling edits. Look at Toonami and Adult Swim. They only do edits if it's too violent or sexual. Most of the edits a understandable.

It is expensive to do a dub, but dubs bring in new fans to the show. If you want to be profitable, you do dubs.

i do purchase anime when they are licensed and it burns deep into my pockets... such an xpensive hobby anime and manga... but soo worth it

and yeah to each his own... im just merely giving my 2cents... for what its worht the only dubbing i really liked was Cowboy Bebop

Cool news for our freinds in the North; but did you notice they listed "Invader Zim" as anime? Dumb.
