Very cool that they are no longer holding on to Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei, I bet NISA will pick it up at some point or another. Right up their alley.

Someone else license Bakuman and finish dubbing it please. Still glad MB aren't completely gone but that whole fiasco kinda annoyed me. First thing i ever imported and then no more releases. :/

I wonder exactly how long the situation has been this way for Zetsubou Sensei. Are they announcing that as of today anyone else can get it or has it been this way for months. Cause I would have thought someone else would have picked it up by now, but it is an older anime.

Well anyway now that it is out in the open I do hope someone picks it up and soon. A good thing is if MB had released it when they got the license it would have probably just been a few DVD releases but I am sure we could get a Blu-ray (assuming a Blu-ray is available in Japan).

and Media Blasters will specifically focus on its Kitty Media label with the company releasing at least one Kitty Media title per month in 2013.

Anything new or just the same 8 year old Vanilla Series garbage that no one even wants to download for a slightly reduced price?

Yeah, my Bakuman DVD (Vol. 1) is just going to be a keepsake now I guess, unless someone (*cough*VIZMEDIA) picks up the DVD license.

Though this would seal its fate to not be dubbed. I'm not ready to give an anime a better chance at release in the US at the expense of giving it a borderline 0% chance of being dubbed. I can't say that I'm particularly satisfied with NIS either.

I'm somewhat mystified as to why Media Blasters would locate itself in New York City, one of the most expensive (and restrictive) cities in the US. I'm not so sure that they should want to locate themselves close to Sinterniklaas' studio after they failed to pay him: I don't want to see Sinterniklaas & Media Blasters annihilate each other, and from the rumors flying around, those 2 entities are like Siamese fighting fish. Very Happy

Maybe they could have moved to a cheaper locale & used the $ to pay their dues for the Bakuman dub? Rolling Eyes

Welp, looks like it'll be a good little while before I can replace my Berserk singles with a complete set. Anime dazed It would be nice if the show was eventually re-licensed and released with those outtakes on it, but probably not. Guess I can't save space on that series for a while yet. ^^;

While I'd love to see someone pick up the rights to Sayonara, Zetsubou Sensei I don't see it happening. Because to really do that series justice you'd need to do a similar subtitling job to what ADV did with Pani Poni Dash - not just subtitling dialog but subtitling every piece of writing on the board, sign in the background or caption.

And that's going to be a big expense to take on board.

Just do the speech, and you'd be missing out on a lot of the content.

I can see Viz Media licensing Bakuman the anime (possibly to go with the manga) and Berserk the anime series since they already got the movies on their roster.

I guess Media Blasters is still slowly dying with titles slipping away from them.

So the only things they're making sure that are going to be released on time are hentai titles? Meanwhile they really don't license much "regular" anime shows anymore and are letting licenses expire. Sounds kinda like CPM before they finally went bankrupt.

Funny thing is that they let the Ah! My Goddess S1 license slip, but you can still watch it streaming on Youtube on their account & on Hulu.

What will become of Giant Robo and Tweeny Witches? I guess those are going to be gone at some point, but Discotek might go for the former and someone else could go for the latter.

And I guess this means that new Genshiken anime won't go to them either. Oh, and Squid Girl season 2 won't come out either...damn it!

I hope someone picks up Berserk and Rurouni Kenshin. I managed to miss out on getting both. My Aniplex blurays of the Kenshin OVAs just feel incomplete without the actual series Confused . I'm betting on Viz to pick up Berserk, since they have the movies licensed.

The only thing I want from Media Blasters right now is the second half of Moribito on bluray. Guess I should get on that soon. Rolling Eyes
