Mono's record label issued this statement:

Picture

[EDIT: I have no clue what this is about, but the picture is way too big and might wreck havoc for dial-up users. Not to mention, it seems off topic of anything anime-related, hence my addition of the [OT] label. -TK]

[EDIT2: Never heard of them, but seeing as how they're a J-band, I took of off the [OT] label and just put the band name at the end so peope wouldn't have to guess who the heck is being pronouned as "they." -TK]

Well they're a Japanese band; so it really isn't off-topic. I like them.

is that real? the image kinda looked like a joke, considering it was from another band with some things crossed out and changed

Yes it's real and I believe they intended it to be a joke. "Emo" band Hawthorne Heights released this press release before their newest album came out and it ticked a lot of people off. The best part is when they cross out "Our single has been played 3,800 times" and they don't put up anything over it haha.

In any case Mono is one of maybe 2 Japanese bands who consistantly tour in America and has released their discography here. Unfortunately they get no love on any anime or j-pop related sites which is beyond lame.

Heh, it's great a fan got ahold of that press release from Victory and changed it around. That thing was the most saddest excuse to get fan support I've ever seen a label send out. I'm surprised Temp. Residence is actually hosting that on their site since I think if Victory Records found out, they could be in hot water.

I hold back vomit at the thought of Hawthorne Heights being called rock. The fact that they're one of the best selling Indie bands in the last decade shows you how bad we've gotten in the quality of today's music.

Here's that stuff on Ne-Yo vs Hawthrone if anyone was curious about that: http://www.eonline.com/News/Items/0,1,18521,00.html?rssmusic

I missed Mono when they were in Orlando last fall, and am kicking myself to this day for it. Anyone know when they're on tour again?

They're supposed to tour with Pelican in the US in May-June.

They will be playing the social on may 15th with pelican. so you should be able to catch them this time around. Though you did miss a great tour. They were amazing when I saw them in the fall.

Yay, the Social, I love that place. That's where they were last time. I'll have to make sure I request the time off from work this time around.

I bought the cd today at Tower Records for $11.99 which is quite a deal when you look at the price tags for their other cds they have there. It clocks in at 60 minutes and 3 seconds...for 6 songs!! The artwork reminds me of last year's release of "The Everglow" by Mae. It may also surprise you that it was recorded and mixed in Chicago.

yeah, they recorded it with Steve Albini at his studio. I haven't bought the new cd yet but I have been listening to a bootleg of when the played in Osaka in March and they play pretty much everything from the new cd. It sounds really good.
