Is anyone attending this convention in Georgia? It'll be on September 26-28. This also happen to be the first convention that I'm going to.

I'm seriously thinking about attending this. I'm not too far away from Atl.

I'm going with some friends of mine. Odds are I'll be cosplaying as a Haibane, if anything.

I'm coming as Yomi from Azumanga Daioh. And I don't want to be too much of a perfectionist but its September 24-26.

Such glorious luck, my friends bailed. I'm still going, but now I don't have a hotel room to stay in. Bummer.

I just got back. I was only able to make it to Friday. It was a blast! I wish I could have had a hotel room and stayed all weekend.

I was going to drive myself back & forth from home, but I ended up wrecking my car on Friday morning (I got confused by a sign and thought I was missing my turn, ruined the left front wheel by hitting the median/island thingy...if you saw a green car stuck in the road near the convention centre, that was regrettably me). I still got transportation all three days from a friend, though. It was incredibly fun, except that I got a nasty headache late Saturday night and had to call it quits around 3:00a.m.
There wasn't as much "must see" stuff going on in the video rooms this year, save for a few movies (Galaxy Express 999 which got me into anime in the first place, Gundam F91 which I missed half of due to headache, and Arcadia of My Youth & Macross:DYRL? which I missed because my ride to the con was late...heh), but the panels were all absolutely excellent. If I had to pick favourites, I'd say the ADV, Bandai, Adult Swim, & Fred Patton ones, which were all very fun & informative (the Patton one basically being me & him carrying on a conversation because there were only about four people there including us). The AMV awards were rather excellent, as well...I was rather impressed with how advanced the video editing was (considering most of the entries are by amateurs to my knowledge, I was expecting much less than what was actually shown). Oh, and the Mari Iijima concert was absolutely lovely.
Lesse...the dealer's room had some really nice stuff...it was more or less a mild form of torture since I only had $45 on me (which was ultimately spent on a MG Freedom Gundam model kit at Bandai's booth) and there was so much stuff I would've liked to get. Saturday & Sunday, I pretty much wandered around since my "shopping" was done on Friday. Sunday was basically me making a quick round looking for friends, then spending about fifteen minutes at Bandai's booth talking to Jerry Chu...cool guy.
The one thing I find strange is how the main ballroom essentially becomes a giant rave on Friday & Saturday nights...complete with cage dancers. Eh, personally I steered clear of that...checked out the "Panel of DOOM!" instead.

I was only there for a short amount of time. But I was able to catch Mari Lijima in concert. She was great. I could tell everyone mainly wanted to hear her song "Do you remember love?" from the Macross movie.
I caught some of Midori no Hibi in a video room. I had not seen that before and it was hilarious.
The video art room was my favorite I think. I would have spent more time there if I had stayed longer.
