Well, the first one and probably the best one I can think of is Elfen Lied. There's a lot of blood and guts. Of course there's more to it then that, but if that's all you're looking for, Elfen Lied is more then enough to please you there. Hopefully you'll appretiate it for more then that though. If you have already seen it, then please provide some kind of list of anime you have seen so we don't have to guess anymore.

I second Elfen lied. One of the most violent animes I've ever seen.

If blood and guts you want, check out Gantz as well. The story starts off good, but the ending is a "train" wreck... I made a funny.

I think I remember the Ninja Scroll TV series being quite bloody/gorry.

This might be hopeless pantsgoblin. His spelling is really bad, and he/she didn't even spell "Elfen Lied" right.

*slowly walks away*

Oh wait... Fist Of The North Star is a bit violent.

New to these boards, good to see the Grammer police are out'n'about.

i can't really make a list of the anime i've watched, i forget the titles too quick. i'll go over the ones i've enjoyed though

Berserk

ELFEN LIED - thats for you joel.

The one with those two friends who work their way up in a crime syndicate, then one trys to kill the other and he comes back from the dead. then they both die in a shitty little restraunt they used to hang out in when they were younger, and with their friends. i also recall one of them enjoyed burbon alot.

Hellsing (the dubbed, although slightly more retarded at times. was overall better then the subbed, they made it much more mature.. especially when one of the valantine brothers is talking on the PA system to th)

Ninja scroll TV was good, movie i enjoyed more then the series.

Ghost in a shell, not really what i'm asking for, but it was just damned good.

man, i need to defrag my memory.... i can't remember...

if you make a suggestion, perhaps make a backup one or two? or 5...

I currently have monster i'm watching, because it was highly rated. Its interesting, but not exactly my cup o tea.

i just came here for some advice. no need to set me on fire.

It's best to search for a topic first. One already exist: Mature manga, perhaps it's better to review what people have already reccommend and ask for a specific mature title in the same topic so it keeps everything in perspective.

About the forum: It's offend redundant when people are recommend the same stuff every time a new person ask for recommendation. Gantz and Elfen Lied are repeated by the same people over and over again (can't people think of any other anime?). I've been on the forum for quite a while and this happen a lot. But that's just my opinion.

And just to answer your question: If you like Ninja Scroll, wait for Basilisk when it's officially release later this summer. And Speed Grapher is also pretty damn good in my opinion. Dark and Gritty.

Well this site actually requires proper English grammar. This is the main reason I love this site so much. I hate those forums where you have to try to make out what characters and other symbols mean. Sure there are foreign people on here who don't speak much English, but even they try their best.

I think you were referring to Gungrave to the one about the two friends who work their way up the crime syndicate. You might also want to learn how to use the spoiler tags. spoiler[You know so you don't give away the endings to certain anime.] Not everyone has seen the same anime you have.

The only 2 animes, besides Berserk and Elfen lied, that come to mind right now when thinking of violent anime, would be Gantz and Fist of the North Star (Also check out New Fist of The North Star).

I'm also waiting for Basilisk to come out. No street date has been announced yet though.

Sounds like Gungrave.

If you are just looking for blood, gore, and maybe some sex, give Gantz a try. The story is mediocre, but it has lots of the blood and gore you seem to want.

Speed Grapher is also pretty good. Not quite as gory as Gantz, but definitely for mature audiences.

NGE has been slapped with the TV-MA rating for violence or sex quite a few times, I don't know about Hellsing as an anime (I only read the manga) but the manga is pretty violent (Alucar rips off half of a zombie's head and licks the blood dripping from it).

Why don't you just go to the mother of all mature anime, Urotsukidoji?

It's got all the crazy gore and tentacle-rape you could ever want!

I highly recommend Kite.Human depravity at some of it's worst.Although I do suggest you watch the EDITED version first.(yeah,I said the EDITED VERSION) The edited version of Kite is just better artistically and cinematically. It's one of the best animated films I've ever seen IMO.

You can watch uncut version later on.Trust me,you wouldn't be missing much anyway.Besides, you can better appriciate the uncut version after you've seen the edited one.
