I'm amazed that they've even bothered to re-launch this game. This card game had some of the worst balancing issues I've ever seen.

I'm one of the techs working on the game. We chose the game because at its core it's a fun and addicting game. The real issue is that it's beginning to show its age and the new user experience needs to be improved. Once you actually get into the game it's a blast. One thing the article didn't mention is that we are actually a software development shop. It took a bit to stabilize the game, but now that's done and we have the rights to do so, we are moving into agile development. What this means is that a section of the game is upgraded every three weeks, starting with the sections that need it the most. We are as transparent as possible and post our goals for each sprint online. Our first sprint can be seen here and dealt mainly with stabilization. Our next sprint (which starts Monday) will focus heavily on improving the new user experience. |
