When i watch a great anime series, and it comes to an end i always feel realy sad( i mean series with drama like kimi ga nozomu eien
 )
and i was just wondering if im the only one who feels like c*ap after watching a good series. |

No, it happens a lot to me. At the end of what I consider to be a great series, I sometimes get very depressed...yet I still think it was a great series. I wonder why that it is too. But this did happen in Kimi ga Nozomu Eien, one of my favorite series ever.
The same thing happened to me within the last 4 episodes of Wolf's Rain. It was just insanely depressing, but it was a great anime. And of course there are series which leave you with a very warm happy feeling at the end like Fullmetal Alchemist, Full Moon wo Sagashite, and Kaikan Phrase. |

yeah, it happens to me, too. It's like I've become attached to the characters and places, and I want more! I want to see what their lives are like after the series ends; I want to see what they go on to do and accomplish!
I get a similar feeling after reading a really good fantasy series, too. |

Hey ppls! So yeaaa I usually get the same crappy feeling after watchin' an anime, like the last few episodes I'll be out desperately searchin' for a sequel! (like oh god it can't end like this!!!) Finished Gundam Seed not too long ago and for the longest time I was feelin' pretty down. Like I know GSD is out with subs but to be honest I didn't go for it cause' Cagali's voice is like done by a guy in the original and that bothered me cause' I had grown so attached to all the characters and the voices that made them unique, sooooo here I am waiting for the March dubbed release. But yea gettin' off topic... Point is I'm right there with all of ya, after a series I'm usually down for the count, until another series pops up that catches my attention

I still feel crappy cause I know the series is over but hopefully not forever. Shinishiro Watanabe also said no more Bebop and then we got the movie so heres to hoping. I feel crappy cause it ended and I'm not looking forward to any new anime releases and the only thing I'm waiting for is the rest of the Cowboy Bebop Remixes which is sad since I've already seen the whole series. |

Yea FMA did that for me....Kinda sad just thinking how I didn't know what I was going to do with myself. These characters you have grow to love and hate, and watch as they grow up infront of you.....and knowing that there won't be anymore from them. Well FMA there is the movie I get to see in like 10 months when it is finally released over on this side of the pacific.

Don't worry you are definately not the only one that feels sad afterwards. I know I do especially when it is a really good series and you are down to the last couple espisodes. Then I do like to look for another series or movie to watch. But I always like watching my favorite parts over and over again while I wait to get a new one.[/quote]

I feel either disappointed or satisfied, but never really sad. I'm not really fond of those series that play themselves out a lot longer than they should and every good story has to come to a conclusion. If it takes 50 episodes to tell the story, great, if it only takes 13 that's fine, so long as the story is told well and not drawn on more than it should be then I'm generally satisfied. If a series is too short or to long and the ending just didn't cap it off well then I'm disappointed.
As much as I love the characters I will tire from them eventually if things just don't go anywhere, and even if everything keeps progressing it really starts to feel tired or drawn out after 60 or more episodes and I eventually lose interest. I accept the ending as either good or bad and move on, I can always view it again if I like. I don't mind some filler episodes, so long as they provide a good story with the main characters it isn't a problem so long as it's not in excess. So long as the story is well told and doesn't start to drag I usually anticipate the ending and am happy to see the conclusion. |

I got the same thing for me too. The ending of "Please Teacher" (About a year after i started Anime) made me feel real bad due to the ending not tieing anything up. A great show but the worse ending I could think of plus Please Twins done nothing to help out or even refered to it (Which is still a good story)... But yeah... Thats my point...

When I finished Azumanga Daioh, I felt empty inside, and the plot makes you feel warm inside. I still hope for some kind of ova that has the characters about ten years later to see their lives. Are you listening Kiyohiko Azuma? That would be REALLY cool!

I've never felt sad about an anime ending. Sometimes I feel disappointed if I didn't like the way it ended, but I can usually understand and appreciate the creator's decision to end a series, so most of the time, I feel pretty content with the ending. I don't like to demand more than what I've already been given because there's always the possibility that any further episodes could ruin the series. Like they say, "If it's not broke, don't try to fix it." Anyway, I always feel accomplished and really refreshed when I finish an anime, especially one that I really enjoyed, because then I know I can move onto something else. Besides, if you want more, that's what fanfiction is for. It just feels really good to finish an anime and it's one of the best feelings in the world.

yeah, but most fanfiction is downright horrible. Hilarious to read, because its so bad, but does nothing to satisfy a desire to see what the characters are doing after the series is over |

I don't know that doesn't ususally happen to me when i watch anime but with manga i definitly get that feelin because you know you paid you last ten dollars and and its like "damm this is the last ten dollars i have to spend to keep reading this manga" and then I read it and then its like damm thats it. That was kind of a let down.
But yea I can feel you in aspect if not in context |

I do feel down at times, whether I feel the ending was complete or that there is quite a bit of sadness within the story altogether. However, a depressing ending rarely makes me dislike the series unless it was absolutely anticlimatic - in other words, if the series was not building up to the sad ending, then I would feel that the quality of the series was tarnished. As for some "incomplete" endings... most anime I see rarely ever tie up all loose ends, so that's probably a given anyways.
