I thought the first one sold horribly, so I guess I'm surprised it's getting another anime. Maybe they're giving it a second shot just to see if the first time was a fluke since boobs are always supposed to sell

Even if it did sell poorly, if it cost pennies to make, and gave the manga a sales boost, all is right with the world.

From what I saw, the first series/season was kind of like Rosario vamp, it completely diverged from the manga; so if its a reboot I can buy it.

Kinda hoped for a second season of the original anime, but this is good too.

It didn't completely diverge, but it definitely compessed or cut things out from the manga or switched up the order certain scenes.
I enjoyed the silly the anime and highly enjoying the manga (get's more exciting after where the anime ends). So, very excited to see this get a second season.

Indeed. Russ Meyer must be smiling in his grave.

This doesn't even have any loli unless you mean the manga. Anyway this show sucks, cliche to the f%^&ing extreme, lolis couldn't save this garbage which shouldn't be getting another anime.

First season wasn't bad, but the second season was a complete joke. Hopefully this one won't follow that path.

Translation: The first anime sucked and I didn't like it, so we're doing it over again and more of the way I wanted it. (Hmm…)
The first Maken-Ki! was far off my radar (e.g. director Koichi Ohata, yet-another-boobfest-anime) until I discovered that Nobuteru Yuki, of all people, handled the animation character designs and co-direction. I don't know if I feel anymore compelled to watch its second incarnation, but if the manga's creator felt it wasn't to his liking, then he's certainly more in his right to have it done again with his oversight. It's only natural to want to see your work done right, whatever the content.

Sam Murai: Except in the case of Yozakura, I actually prefer the anime designs over the OVA/Manga. The color palette and designs used in the TV series are just very "pleasant" and I felt the show struck a good middle ground between shounen and shoujo.
OVA I was rather meh on.
