I'm such a sucker for Star Blazers.. I ran home from school every day to see this thing when it first aired.. this series redone looks awesome. Can't wait for all of them to be released. I hope we get a legal copy here in the USA. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

@Arsenette - You can buy the Blu-ray version from Amazon Japan. They contain English subtitles. I got my discs from Play Asia.

Its amazing stuff their coming out with. Interesting to see how it turns out for that enemy Gamelon pilot.
My budget however si bit tight, i hope some day they'll consider releasing it is large sets for sake of sanity.
I guess production costs are through roof in Japan these days.

Maybe Funimation will license this if Yamato Resurrection does well.
I miss Leiji Matsumoto's character designs, though. At least these somewhat resemble them, even though it's clearly a different style.
