I can't say it enough, but this show looks like its going to be amazing. The designs are some of the best out there (I love Kantokus work), and it looks like it won't be as dark and dreary as Madoka was.

I...I don't know how to feel about this.

....Please be traditional SHAFT wierdness, PLEASE. I can already see some of it in the trailer, at least.

@Chagen46

Traditional SHAFT weirdness... You're only talking about their visual style, right? Because it's very obviously, and consistently, in their style by just the trailer alone.

I'm hoping you aren't talking about their plot concepts.

I meant visual style. I mean, that's what SHAFT's know for, right?

Ah, alright then. Then yes, it is. Seeing as this is an original work, I don't believe there's going to be anything holding back Shinbo, other than his own self-learned restraint.

Is Shinbo working on this? I'd assume he is, though.

I really like Madoka Magica, but I want this show to be its own thing and maybe even troll us, but not in the same direction or tone that Madoka Magica did.

The deciding factor is who they get to write it.

I just hope whoever they get doesn't think that DESPAIR = serious and deep storytelling.

looks like a kids show to me.
I'm going to guess the blue hair girl will be the more popular of the three because she looks like azunyan on this video,

This looks like a good series, but I wont be watching it BECAUSE it is SHAFT.

I despise SHAFT's weird visual styles, and Shinbo's weird ass story telling.

Wouldn't it also be good if they don't get someone who see things in such simplified extremes? Hmm?

Sorry, that sentence is completely illogical.
If you think it'll be a good series, but don't watch it because of who animated it then isn't that just being childishly stubborn? I can understand that if you don't like SHAFT then it may mean you automatically dislike the show, but to admit to thinking it'll be good and still not watching it because you can't get past that aspect seems a little silly...

Five bucks says all of the reviewers give it guff for not being Madoka Season II. Ten bucks if they even mention the name Madoka at all.

I really don't like the character designs,I think those facial expressions are overused and that whole "my hair represents my personality" is getting real tiresome.I am not expecting show to be Madoka Magica, but I hope it takes some risks at least in a department of visual style(judging by the trailer it seems like it will).
And also they have confirmed Shinbo will be directing another series but not this one, although if you ask me he most likely will.
