Thats actually a lil more convenient for me, since funimation has got a bunch of stuff in just the next couple months I've been wanting to get.
But hey, even if I did want it sooner, stuff like this happens |

Anybody know why it takes centuries to localize stuff from overseas to here?

And in the mean time, there has yet to be any news on which characters the new voice cast will be playing.
What we do know is that the Blu-ray will be the same upscale as the Japanese release just like with season 1 (as seen here). |

Dubbing, authorization, fears of reverse-importation. In the case of Shana and a lot of other Geneon aquisitions, it was because Geneon Japan merged with Universal Japan right after Funimation got them, causing all those titles to be wrapped up in legal red tape which only now has been resolved. For all we know, this delay could just be because of something harmless like FUNi realising they're releasing too much stuff in September and trying to spread it out a little more, or maybe they caught something wrong at the last minute Last edited by Shenl742 on Tue Aug 07, 2012 2:13 pm; edited 1 time in total |

Why did they change the cast?

At least it's just a set-date delay instead of a "sometime later" delay. No complaints here, since I have a bunch I want in September anyway.

No doubt because the have two 24 episode series (plus the OVAs and movie) they would all need to outsource if they didn't. |

Because dubbing roughly 50 TV episodes, 4 OVAs, and a feature-length movie would cost FUNi an arm and a leg if they paid Ocean Group to do it. This has, however, brought out worries that FUNi might try to dub Roberta's Blood Trail in-house too. And THAT would NOT be cool. |

I will be just happy when its released and i can get a copy of season 2 at last!
I watch it subtitled so i could careless about the Dub voice cast. |

Kinda disappointed with the cast bit. I realize that it would be expensive.. but I at least wanted to have the main 3 characters (or at least Shana and Alastor) to keep the same voice actors. Oh well, I guess.

Well, they got LA to finish Hellsing Ultimate, and Roberta's Blood Trail is only 5 episodes, so I'd imagine they'd go the extra mile to at least grab Ocean for that. At least with Shana its understandable. And hell, there have been anime that have changed the dub cast and I adapted to that, like Read or Die the OVA to ROD: The TV. And I'd even say the latter had a better dub. Still, keepin my fingers crossed that they do NOT change Black Lagoon, cause as much as I love Funimation's dubs, Ocean is the only one who can do Black Lagoon |
