@CrisGer A.A.
Ok, I hate the fact that I have to ask, but... that post was a joke, right? |

I can see that the villain is definitely a sick and twisted person, some might even say a goalless terrorist, and I really hope we don't have some sort of glorification of what he has done. Not going to stop me from watching though, this anime can not cause more damage to the industry then the same moe and harem shows being thrown out, and doubt that it can be as twisted as what is already out.

spoiler[I'd imagine it'd be like what happens in Dot Hack, except that anyone who knows the person who bought the game and logged on should know what not to do. I guess they'll just be treated like coma patients, except with a dumb headset on. I mean, otherwise, they'd all have died in 3 days, right?] Pretty cool concept, but I wonder if they're being punished for a reason or the guy just likes seeing people fight in a fantasy world when there are dire consequences. That sort of changes the whole idea about how one would behave in a game, so it's gone from Dot Hack to Druaga. Like Bamboo said about Accel World, there's just nothing at stake except being able to play the game. But the game means nothing except to be in an elitist game, and there's no harm no foul if you die there except not being able to play the game. I wonder if the headset has a program to do its deed if it notices the batteries are just about out of juice, thus leaving no room for escape there either.
It'd have to be. Otherwise, boohoo, the fictional people are being murdered, that's why it's fiction. |

On average, I think fictional people are more likable than real ones. You should be more sympathetic to their fictional plights. |

This feels so deja-vu. Oh yeah, another poster did complained the same thing about Jormungand. Well whatever. Anyway, i never read the novels so seeing the 1st episode was great. The background was beautiful, the music was great and fit's the mood and the characters and setting are interesting. I'm enjoying Sword Art Online very and if future episodes gets more better, this might be the hit anime of Summer 2012. PS:Seeing the game reminded me of Ragnarok Online. Well it turns out the author based Sword Art Online on his time playing Ragnarok Online and Ultima Online. |

Hmm... based on bits I've heard about the LN series, 12 episodes shouldn't be a problem. Extremely vague LN spoilers. spoiler[There's a good stopping point for the story that could serve as an ending that they shouldn't have trouble reaching in 12 episodes.] Of course, I've heard some places that this series is actually going to be 24 episodes. Not sure if that's true or not. EDIT: Oh, ok, 24 episodes. Well, in that case we'll either end up with a greatly expanded adaption, or we'll reach some of the later parts of the LN series, which would be interesting. Either way, I'm going to try and avoid getting more spoiled than I already am and just enjoy the series. |

Wow this episode was rushed as hell. Have to say but i think the entire boss fight was ruined and removed a lot of what made aria so good in the first place. I seriously hope the rest of the series is not as rushed as this episode was.

Meh it was rushed but it got all the important parts aka the creation of the term Beater and Asuna/Egil meeting Kirito. I doubt they will rush the other parts aria was just really long. They better not rush the next ep tho... |

this episode was rushed, and I think slowing it down to spoiler[ give the knight guy some more attention would have given his death some more impact], though the ep did do its job in showing how beta testers are being looked down upon by most of the noobies and what not.
The thing that got me though was what Kirito decided to do at the end. I have to say I was shocked, I wanted him to say something but him basically saying "I'm better than those noobish beta testers don't lump me with them!" was possibly the worst thing you could have had him say. but then I thought about it for a bit. spoiler[Remembering that the knight guy wanted to have everyone protected, it was probably better if he left than stayed after that argument. I mean its evident in episode one he perfers to be in small groups or solo, so even if he cleared everything up, he'd still possibly be scorned or talked about behind his back and everyone in loss of focus could slowly collapse and then he'd get another "its your fault speech" later with more weight. this way its on their own heads and Kirito can resume to watch out for himself.] |
