i might get fafner vol 1 box but is the fafner series good and does it have a lot of emotion and action in it and i heard there are 2 fafner series what one is the first.

There's only one Fafner series. I think there was talk about a single episode sequel OVA, but I don't remember any of the details.

Fafner is too similar to everything, it's Eva times Rahxephon plus Macross divided by Gundam. In other words, a derivative mess.

Do you usually buy boxes with your volume one DVDs? I've bought the first couple of DVDs and didn't think too much about them. It did rank on that top 100 list that was linked to ANN. Unless you like to buy boxes I would recommend you buying the standard edition of volume one.
