I'm curious about something regarding the Homunculi in FMA.
Wrath apparently was "born" when Izumi performed human alchemy, but he needed body parts from Ed to become a physical entity. Wrath supposedly looks like what Izumi's child might have looked like if it had lived.
Lust looks like Scar's brother's girlfriend. She claimed to not know what Scar was talking about when he asked her if his brother had succeeded in bringing her back to life.
Sloth looks like Ed's mother. It is unknown how old she really is, but Envy suggested that Sloth was fairly young compared to the other Homunculi.
Envy can't remember what she looks like, but has a grudge against Ed's father.
What I don't get is why do the Homunculi look like someone that an alchemist attempted to bring back to life and why do they seem to not know which alchemists were responsible for their birth?

Envy was made by Ed's father, trying to bring back his first son.

sloth was created by ed and al, and she has memories of there mother
wrath was born as a result of izumis failed attempt at human transmutation, he is not her son
lust, was born by the failed attempt of human transmutation by scars brother, lust retains memories of the woman that used to be the fiance{or g/f }of scars dead brother
actually the homuncoulous all know who created them because dante tells them, and they dont look like who created them, if anything they look like the dead person that the alchemist was trying to ressurect

Well, that IS what I said. I was just curious as to WHY that was the case, but I guess you guys explained it enough. I just didn't realize that the Homunculi had memories of the person they looked like since Lust acted like she had no idea about Scar's brother when he confronted her in the Library in Central.

The homonculi ARE the result of human transmutation. If you try to bring someone back, you succeed, only it's as a homonculus, devoid of a soul, and often without even the memory of the original (hazy at best). Sloth is that pile of crap on the floor of their basement in the first episode, she just got her stuff together.

They are brought back to life, not remembering their entire memories. The only thing that reminds them of who they were, are parts of themselves or very special items of which they placed a lot of emotional value in. Those selected items were their attachments to that world while they were still human. Which is why they froze in their tracks when in the vicinity of it.
What I want to know is how Gluttony became a humonculi, since he was the only one the series did not specify.

As i recall Greed, Glutonny and Pride were all intentionally created by Dante. Of those three, Greed wanted nothing to do with serving Dante and this is why the other Homunculi are after him. All the rest serve Dante because she promised them she could give them souls (if i remember correctly).

Also it is possible that one of the Homunculi were created from the side story Full Metal Alchemist and The curse of the crimson elixir. In the videogame there is an alchemist known as the Silver Bullet Alchemist or known as Jack Crowley. In the story Jack attempt to bring someone back to life by way of Human transmutation. He fails just like everyone else, but since he was attempting to bring back his long lost love (who is a woman) I doubt that it either Greed, Glutonny, or Pride. Well dang it looks like a blew my own theory out of the water. Anyways perhaps it's possible that square enix will make a videogame explaning what happened to these homunculi in detail. Also if Dante intentionally created these humunculi then what exactly did she sacifice in order to do so? Since she didn't have anymore of the Philiospher stone, or perhaps she got some poor sap to do it for her.
Till next time,

I'm sure you know, but just in case, if you hold down the left click button and drag it over the black bars you can read what is written underneath. The point of the bars is just to prevent you from reading something accidentally that you weren't ready to read. Alot of people get bothered if they find out details of a story before they have the chance to watch it.

don't get mad if im wrong but, do you think that its possible that scar himself is a homunculis, cause the leader dude (forgot name) of the ishbalins said that his left arm was his brothers, and his memories couldv'e just gotten mixed up, it does kinda make sense,...i think...

No it's not possible that Scar is a Homunculis Since it's not possible for Homunculis to perform alchemy (except for wrath since he is a rare breed of homuncli) since that is what Scar is actually doing when he blows up an Alchemist, he doesn't reconstructed the material he is creating. It's an interesting idea but unfortunely no I don't really see it being all that possible.
Till next time,
