Looking forward to this. Had almost given up all hope for a U.S. release.

Well THAT was quick. Usually it takes them several months to a year to announce the cast. Shocked

Wouldn't be surprised to see this coming out in late summer, early fall time frame. Also looking forward to seeing this series.

Wow, that was quick. That looks like a nice cast. It's nice to look at a FUNi cast list that's NOT filled with too many of FUNi's beloved darlings in nearly every role.

Wow... Funi's got guts. This show failed miserably in Japan, and honestly, I doubt it will do anything in the USA. It's just... not that good. Maybe it was a package deal.

This, I remember trying to watch it back when it aired...it was just not good. I can't help but feel no matter what funi is making a huge blunder but I've felt this way about them for the longest time now.

Ugh, Clarine Harp. At least she seems to be a character of little importance since I can't find an "Ayako" on either MAL or Anime Planet. Hell, she's not on ANN's cast list either.

HEY! FUNIMATION! Where's that Panty and Stocking cast list? Where's a trailer? I know you're giving EVS the first two episodes dubbed next month, but we can't get a little info? You just licensed Shangri-la and you already announce the cast? C'mon, man!

I need to ask because you made a similar criticism in the Cat Planet Cuties dub cast thread and now I can't get the thought out of my head. Why do you hate Clarine Harp so much or rather her voice I think? I don't get it. And I only say that because even in your other post did your criticism feel unclear to me. All I got according to what you said is that when she speaks in a show, quality in a dub sinks like a stone somehow, period. Now to me, that could come off as if you're not at all tolerant of the way her voice usually sounds. Then again my perception of your criticism might be off for all I know, hence why I'm asking.

This announcement of the English dub cast was indeed very swift for Funimation considering they have yet to announce the English dub casts for Deadman Wonderland,C Control and Fractale which they have had the rights to these shows for close to a year now!The voice cast is filled with new voice talent that haven't been around more then two years at the most..its nice to see voice acting vets like Kent Williams and Jason Douglas among the cast they simply aren't seen as much as they should be when it comes to Funimation's dubs.Funimation has been hiring new voice talent like crazy for their recent dubs close to 18 new voice actors made their voice acting debut in the English dub of Fairy Tail! This seems to be an on going trend for the English dubs for Funimation the Shangri-la dub being the latest example of it.The English cast looks like it might be decent but I can't give my opinion on it until I hear the English cast in action when the series is released on Bluray later this year.

This does seem pretty quick for an announcements. However me thinks they already had the dub cast picked for some time before the announcement that Funimation had licensed the show. I never seen the show but I will probably give it a watch on their site.
