Well, yeah, it's a no-brainer. If every volume of Nise and Bake sold even just 20,000 units, which would be marvelous for any show, that would be a failure here. The only problem is the pacing of each series to avoid otaku burnout, and to prevent SHAFT budget problems.
1. Make low to moderate budget show.
2. Have Kamiya talk about panties and girls.
3. Sell more than most other anime in that season combined.
It's almost as if they're cheating the system.

Despite how disappointing Nisenmongatari was...this is pretty epic. If they go closer to what bakemonogatari was like in terms of direction it will be awesome. It was a huge shame they only managed to fit two (VERY TINY) stories into 11 episodes when they could've done so much more if they had not focused so much on the incestual innuendos and babbling. I know the series is mostly about babbling but there was definitely more pointless babbling in Nisen than in Bake

Nisemonogatari was just fanservice fluff to begin with, didn't Nisio say he wrote it on a whim and never intended it to get published?

The other question is how well can the *monogatari series maintain it's popularity over the coming years?

So this is Shaft positioning itself to become a megastudio, right?

No, they blow all of their money on hookers and coke.

I'm sure profits from Kizu and the Madoka films will cover vice for a while.

they just follow the book. The other books won't be like bakemonogatari either, so don't expect every books to be the same.

Since the novels are highly unlikely to ever be translated (I want the rest of Zaregoto, dammit), this is good news.

I'm glad to see more of this coming in anime form. Nismonogatari and Bakemonogatari were both enjoyable to watch, however they feel lacking and incomplete story-wise.

So can we maybe get a list of all the upcoming works in the series to be animated still in the article?

I love the picture. Gives off that feeling of you were so excited you couldn't speak so you just took a picture of the news.
