I don't really think this could be called the first eva smart phone. I mean it is the first android one, but the sh-06a at the time was a smart phone and did pretty much the same things and more than any smart phone did in 2009, except for maybe the iphone of course but it made up for that with a 10 megapixel camera.

Ya most phones made by sharp are pretty advanced by American standards, softbank even has a a sharp phone with a 16 megapixel camera built in. Too bad sharp never even touched the american market But it's not really all that surprising because I think the first eva phone retailed for about $1200 and most of thier phones are like $800. Here are the specs for the new phone just a heads up they are in japanese http://www.nttdocomo.co.jp/product/next/sh06dnerv/index.html |

What does that have to do with anything? The whole concept is these are the phones that NERV personal use not 'what if the EVA units them selves where phones' |

I question whether this one is Android. There's lots of "smart phones" that are not Android OS. The Sharp SH-007 was the first Android phone with a flip form factor, so far one of only 2 like that that I know of. I don't think this is an Android phone based on the specs. My Japanese is limited, but it doesn't say "Android" anywhere in there. (contrast with the Galaxy Nexus: http://www.nttdocomo.co.jp/product/next/sc04d/ which does list Android OS as a feature) It is a nice looking phone tho. |

Ah, I see. I thought it was a flip phone because of the design, but it's just another slate phone with a special backplate. lame -_- |

I dunno, but I'd bet that all the functions and such are done based on NERV graphic designs, which could be pretty cool... I use the Android app that is the NERV clock and it's kinda amusing to have that on my phone when you turn it on... I'd love to have a ringtone that is Misato saying mushimushi... hmmm, I may just have to go do that. |

Actually the Microsoft Kin models were built by Sharp, though mostly designed by Microsoft. The boxes clearly said Sharp on them though. Both phones were huge flops. The US smartphone market is tough, with only Apple and Samsung really making any significant profits. |
