In what context? And what is this from?

目に入れても痛くない ... "it doesnt hurt if you put it in the eye" loosely ... it sounds like nonsense, haha. Either I'm really wrong or I'm trying to translate something very strange...

and I doubt this is the right place for a translation question...

All I know is that it is from a forum that I´m moderator in.. I have to know what it means if it is something that brakes rules...

The English equivilant is "be the apple of one's eye."

My dictionary gives the following as an example:

孫娘は目に入れても痛くないほど可愛い。
I love my granddaughter more than anything in the world.

I think Jim Breen's WWWJDIC has several of these types of sayings in it. It found the entry when I typed in the romaji for it. (Of course I had to think of that AFTER I looked it up the hard way.)

It's a handy tool, but don't expect it to have everything.
