If Tom & Jerry Is better than say Detective Conan, then I think the end of the World is rapidly approaching.
But, Seriously though There is finally an Anime that is better than Gundam, I am so glad that Full Metal Alchemist is on that top of that list, and I think it belongs up there.

Tom & Jerry at #58? Who knew? I remember watching that show when I was really young, but it's a classic. Though I never expected it to appear on a list like this.

This is nothing more than a popularity poll. Just think about a TV show which's director and color designer (?) got fired in the middle during broadcasting, forcing the original creator / manga-ka to jump in and supervise character design and animation production, could obtain 4th position out of 100.

0_0...Tom & Jerry maded it on this list...well I'm impressed one american short series that rarely had any dialoge (the other being The Pink Panther).

Bingo. People are more likely to remember shows that have aired recently or shows with popular manga no matter how bad the actual anime is. Tom & Jerry is probably one of the most honest shows listed.

Tom and Jerry isn't unsurprising. It was huge in Japan. I'm surprised though that there weren't any Disney titles on the list, since they were obviously allowing non-domestic shows.
The front loading of recent shows is expected for these sorts of lists. I'd be willing to guarentee that Gundam will be higher than FMA if they made a new one in a couple years and most of the recent shows listed will be gone.

I think in some ways it might be more fair to say "Best series that ran more than 5 years ago." This might yield more accurate results.

Hey, where's "Aa! Megami-sama" (Ah! My Goddess)? This wonderful anime series should have made that list.

I'm a little surprised Negima made it to #4. I would've thought Love Hina had a better chance at that then Negima...
