Magico is not published by Shogakukan. It is published by Shueisha (Weekly Shonen Jump).

Also, almost 2 million in three days (came out on Feb. 3) for One Piece is really great. Same with Naruto, Gintama, Toriko, and Nurarihyon no Mago.

I love the cover for that One Piece volume, much more creative than usual and not cluttered with a ton of characters.

Its kind of sad to see how big the drop off is after the shonen titles though...

2 million copies sold in only 3 days...that's good news to hear. Cool

Also, Toriko is gaining speed, too. It's in the Top 5!

Maid-sama!'s and Index's success always makes me happy. It gives me hope that they'll see a completed North American release and a North American license, respectively.

A couple minor corrections:

- Master Keaton is published by Shogakukan, not Kodansha.

- One Piece #64 was #46 last week, not #20 (Cardfight!! Vanguard #3 was #20 last week).

Also: I <3 Magico's cover.

Edit: Also One Piece #64's total sales should be updated.

Don't you mean stumbling? Vol 17 and 16 released at the 4 and 3 spots.

Stumbling, maybe, but it's still getting there.

Just saying it's been getting there for while now and this week's standing isn't a new trend.

I'm actually surprised it's not higher. The anime has aired 43 episodes all of which aired before One Piece and received ratings of over 5 million, that's advertising most manga could only wish for and it doesn't even break 200,000 copies. That is BAD.

Actually the best thing about this is that One piece 65 with 3 days of sales would be 20th on the 2011 list of best selling manga by SERIES.

That's not bad. It's just not astounding. It's average at best.

There are a lot of manga that have anime adaptations that don't even make it to the top 10.

you're forgetting that volume sales figures don't include the people who have already bought weekly shonen jump specifically to keep up with one piece chapters.

And it's not hard to turn profit for manga just like most print books. For most manga, if you can hit 50,000 within the first month, you've made your number and break 100k and you'r a smash hit.

JUMP titles got higher number mainly due to it ability to penetrate to different age and gender market outside of its core 10-20 male target.
