Not really a fan of Black Butler (do like the dub though unlike practically every fangirl that's really into this show), but I could've sworn the dub cast for this show was already announced like a couple of months ago. Or maybe it just felt that way when I looked up the english track section one time in the Mania anime forums.

The title was truncated as "INTEREST: Funimation Announces Black...", I was expecting it something about Black Rock Shooter. I keep expecting Funi to announce a ton of acquisitions of series from this season for some reason.

So Kuroshitsuji has never been released on BD in Japan. How is FUNimation getting the HD masters for this? Are they upscaling it themselves? *curious*

Fangirl here. I like the dub very much, even with the occasional flub. (most of my relatives are Brits, so I can hear them, even so, I think the dub is fun). Most of the fangirl complaints I see are usually "ditto" remarks from 12 and 13 year olds trying to fit in and look cool. They remind me of the tank at the aquarium with the school of anchovies, all swimming around and around in the same direction with their mouths open. I don't pay much attention to them. They all say "Dub sux. Won't buy." while the rest of us are rolling our eyes and thinking "Well duh. You don't get enough allowance money..." edited to add: Jason Douglas sounds really good. I'm looking forward to hearing more of his take on Claude. |

Luci as Alois!? Oh I so need to catch up on Black Butler now!
I've never heard the original Japanese cast so I have no idea how Alois is supposed to sound, but I always enjoy Luci's performances

Didn't enjoy S2 spoiler[except I dug that ending, mwhahaha)], however I'm glad to know this comes with the OVAs since I've never seen those.
I watched S1 dubbed and S2 subbed. I think both are fine, and think the dub for S1 was certainly a good one. |

Yeah, most of those had been announced a while ago. The only new one on that list was Luka. Alois and Claude have not only been announced, but the clips of them were posted. And FUNi still hasn't said who's playing Ronald, but I asked Ian Sinclair, the ADR director, and he said Joel McDonald is playing him.
So looking forward to this, by the way!! Especially episode 3, the episode 3 commentary, and the Reaper OVA. Yeah, guess who my favorite character is... |

Jason Douglas sounds excellent!Which is not a surprise in the slightest considering he stole every scene he was in as King Cold from Kai and he was quite good as Miles from Brotherhood as well!A fine voice talent indeed!I've never had much interest in this series but the trailer has sightly intrigued me where I will most likely check out the first season of the anime on Netflix soon.

Dunpeil: Finally Series 2 is out in ENGLISH! ^^ We are So super excited! ^^ Mahado: We are so looking forward to the DVD and Blue Ray Realise. ^^ Alios Trancy is such a real killer character in this one, we have seen it in Japanese and we love it. ^^ Dunpeil: Oh yes! That's a good question. For something so recent, I'm surprised it hasn't been released on BD in Japan (of all places). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The English voice track was fabulous. For some reason, this show gives me the impression of a Blood+/Vampire Knight hybrid, with a little genetic presence of D.Gray-man. I see it's streaming here, I think I'll start it tonight. |
