It's only been in existance for like a week, and it's already gotten loads of positive feedback. Plus I believe most of it came from girls, and that's a plus for me. Very Happy

I'm not sure you're allowed to post that kind of thing but I still don't know how to use that site. How do I view it?

It's on the local server. You need to be a member to watch it. Registration's free.

You DON'T have to pledge. That's just optional. When you get that screen, just click "Proceed".

That video included way too much dead time where nothing was really happening. Most of that was where you just took scenes from the TV show where people were talking. It's not a good idea to put that sort of stuff into a music video because, even if some important dialogue was exchanged there and it's a favorite scene of yours, that doesn't come across to anyone else who's watching the AMV. All that we see is people standing there with their mouths moving. Nothing else is really happening, so it's incredibly boring for the rest of us who maybe don't remember exactly what was said in that particular scene and therefore can't realize the significance of including it in the video. On a related note, I'd probably axe the part where you actually included the dialogue from the show, too. It was a little difficult to hear it because you didn't adjust the audio so that the dialogue was noticeably louder than the music, but even if you had, it would have been a distraction anyway. I'm more of the opinion that a music video should be strictly a music video, and nothing else should interfere with the music. So, no dialogue.

It ended somewhat abruptly. I would probably have had the video slowly fading out as the song was winding down or something like that. The arrangement of clips throughout the video also seemed haphazard and random at times. For instance, I'm not entirely sure why you included Heero assassinating the Alliance leaders; it has little to do with the theme you were trying to capture.

I don't mean to sound too critical, but I assume you posted this because you want some opinions. Kudos for choosing something that's not Linkin Park or some other BS like that (not a huge Frampton fan either, but at least I don't feel like a tool just for listening to it). All your video really needs is a little more focus, choosing appropriate clips and arranging them in a way that makes sense, and less dead time, eliminating all of the dialogue scenes and only using clips that can keep the audience's attention.

That's just SOME of the positive feedback I've gotten for the video. People like it the way it is, and so do I.

Those are all generic leet quotes from 14-year-old Pokemon freaks (notice the grammar and spelling). Don't go thinking your video is outstanding because a couple Toonami watchers posted those comments.* You've got a LOOONG way to go.

*No offense to Pokemon fans and Toonami watchers, it's just better than saying "Little boys who don't know what anime really is."

Like I said, that's only SOME of the feedback I got. I'd post the rest, but there's too much to post.

How appropriate. All of the comments you posted sounded like the sort of generic fanboy & fangirl comments that would be made of anything Gundam Wing-related, regardless of content. They'll say the same thing of awful fanart and grammatically bereft fanfics written in fan-Japanese, internet shorthand, and animu smilies (^__^ and O__O and the like). It happens everywhere.

Sorry to tell you, but I think zaphdash is right on the money. Most of the clips seem completely random (what does Heero downing Noventa's shuttle have to do with anything?), and the ones that actually are relevant don't synch well with the music, or are otherwise emotionally blank or ill-placed. The use of overlong lip flap sequences further creates empty spaces, as there's no dialogue to support them, and there's nothing else around them that's actually going on to create interest (and without dialogue, anime lip flaps are absolutely worthless). Speaking of dialogue, the pilot suit scene was far too drowned out by music to really hear any of it, and it was also a very low-quality recording, creating more of an electronic buzzing noise than any emotional impact. The arrangement was also something of a mess, as there was no flow to the scenes, no building of emotion or sense of continuity. It didn't even ebb and flow with the pace of the song. It just felt like a bunch of random sequences were haphazardly stuck together, regardless of how well they went with the music or the intended theme.

Sorry, man. Valiant attempt, but it just needs more work. Better planning and a keener eye for picking the right moments will help immensely, especially in learning to avoid lip flaps.
