nice review as always but I sill can't believe that it's took nearly 16vols to cover new material that is not from the anime or visual novel. I should start the manga some-time but lack of said funds is a pain.

Try to see if your local public library will buy it. My library only bought the first two volumes over a year ago, but they just purchased up to Vol. 15 thanks to my purchase request e-mail.

Umm... all of what they're adapting, including this, is in both the anime and the visual novel. That's why it's an adaptation. The only other thing is the short side stories, and Yen Press only released one of those in the US.

I meant to own legally outside of japan. The visual novel and manga are the only bits that will cover kai and even rei if possible.

This arc (up until volume 18) was covered in the part of the anime released domestically. (Well, the very end of volume 18 wasn't until season 2 of the anime.) Also, Yoigoshi-hen / Beyond Midgnight (10-11) and Onisarishi-hen / Demon Exposing (not numbered) were manga original.

Also, all of the original sound novels (PC versions) have been available domestically for some time.
