So sadly it was just a series cut-down a-la-Gundam style movies done to S-Cry-Ed instead.
Shame, I was expecting an original movie but I guess that was too much hope for 1. Such an old show that is probably out of the minds of most people by now, and 2. a Show that didn't exactly move much or hardly any merchandise or DVD sales...
Damn, this was one of my favorite shows too.

Just to echo what has been said, would have surely been better to do a completely new, original movie.
This would help revive interest in the TV series, and surely shift some of those potential remastered boxsets.
Back when it was released, I really enjoyed it.
Nothing special, but entertaining with some great characters.

Gotta third what the above two have been saying, the whole concept was a pretty fun one and while the anime wasn't 'groundbreaking' or anything, it had some good pacing, a pretty decent story and more importantly, action sequences that were actually really cool.
But above all else? The whole 'growth' of characters was also really believable as well. No shounen BS of conveniently discovering a new power and becoming stronger through sheer willpower alone, hell even the main heroes had some pretty significant flaws.
Especially with that absolutely amazing final battle they had in the final episode, easily one of my top favorite 'fight sequences' from an anime series.

They should just finish it by making the two protagonist guys yaoi.

What do you think our chances of seeing this licensed here are? ..........That's...what I was afraid of.
I love s-CRY-ed, it's actually one of my favorite original 26-episode series. I'm pretty 'bleh' on the idea of re-using animation for a movie (blame the Blue Gender movie for ruining that for me), but I think I could deal with it for this.
