Worse comes to worse, FUNi makes profit off the domain.

Although looking back I kinda wish they did get OP.

They almost did. Someone from CN claimed they had a demo tape from them of what would've been their dub.

Oh, great; another person who thinks that fansubs are the greatest invention in the history of the world. Rolling Eyes You probably think that steroid use in professional sports is OK too, right? Rolling Eyes FUNi has bills to pay, you know!

I think Speed Grapher is a blockbuster waiting to happen. The one thing I admire about FUNi is that they know how to pick stellar titles - Dragonball, Yu Yu Hakusho, Fullmetal Alchemist, Fruits Basket, and so on. Hopefully FUNi will be able to get the license to this series, but at this point in time it's too early to tell. All three of these Studio Gonzo titles just started airing in Japan, so it'll be a while before we know if they will become mega-hits (and since they are Gonzo-animated titles, they probably will Cool ).

As for Speed Grapher on Toonami; it's more suited for [adult swim] should it air on American television, but that won't happen until 2006 at the earliest.

How did ADV fudge up Gantz? It seems to ahve gotten a decent release, uncut and all. Caught the dub on the edited for on demand episode and it was OK, but not bad.

this is perfect, Speed Grapher could be a huge hit on toonami.

Hells yeah! Toonami needs more kinky secret society orgies, gomu gomu S&M guys, and milf carpet munching. Dan, just got ep 3. Lord knows what's packed in there.

Seriously, I love this damn show. Haven't been hooked by a show like this is a while. Whoever gets it, I'm buying the damn DVDs as soon as I can. As for being on TV, I don't even know if Adult Swim could handle it.

I've never heard of Funi using it's domains to profit in any unfair manner.

In fact, I've never even heard of them using the domains if they don't get the licenses, and their official stance is that they give the domains to the show's licensors...

I'd see FUNimation's actions as protecting the common interest of the anime industry. Last thing anyone wants is some pr0n, bootleg or fansub site squatting on one of those domains.

Speed Grapher definitely doesn't seem like FUNi's cup of tea, although the secret agenty part of it does fit their "mantra" (a la Kiddy Grade, Gunslinger Girl, etc.)

I agree, Speed Grapher is more like something that ADV would want.

Seems someone doesn't have enough room on their shelf for the 17(?) DVD's that ADV is doing because their releasing them on 2 Episode DVD's!!

I'm just waiting for the Perfect Collection to pop up later.

It is 13 DVDs, and if it is put in a Prefect collection, I see it in two Thin Packs.

Except they did that because the FANS complained about prices. Of course, I don't think they went about this experiment the right way, but at least they tried something.

Well, they definitely handed www.gantz.tv over to ADV.
I wonder if ADV registered gantz.com or something similar?
edit-Ah, www.gantz-tv.com

A company that's flooding shelf space at stores and then scaling back and start selling some of their title like Tutu exclusively online becasue shelf space is limited. They knew that GANTZ is full of violence and nudity and a popular title. 2 episode per dvd at 18 suggested retail price with 13 dvd to buy and 2 box. They profit in the long run. Your enjoyment at 2 episode at a time may varied.

I'll probably wait for a boxset too, because the anime is good, but another company could have given it a proper release.

And don't forget that Funimation also are the US licensers for Fullmetal Alchemist, which will inevitably earn them a lot more on top of the DBZ profits.

I don't like Funimation (censorship racketerrs) or ADV (too many volumes on anime DVDs or too slow releases on manga + too much cultural censorship). I'd prefer Geneon to get hold of titles like Speed Grapher.

Considering Speed Grapher features an undergound sex cult, graphic murders and a titilating 3 second scene of 6 naked women getting off, 1 clearly fingering herself to orgasm...How is this something that fits into Funimation's style?

Basilisk is very fight and kinda gory. Trinity Blood is a graphic vampire one.

Either way, Gonzo is my favourite studio, so if they get the exposure and the sales, good by me. As long as the DVD versions don't get screwed up.

That Alchemist dub is truly pathetic.

I rather not have Geneon get ahold of it, but that is because I don't like the way New Gen dose their dubs and translations.

On ADV, their Manga Derpartment lost a ton of money and had layoff recently. Also Explane to me how they do cultural censorship, I don't see it and I am in a Japanese cluture class with a teacher that is from Japan. FUNi hasn't done any censorship to FMA, or to Kiddy Grade, nor do I beleave that Burst Angel will have any eather given the recent track record that FUNi now has.

As for who I would like to see get Speed Grapler? Eather ADV or Bandai. Trinity Blood to Geneon, and be given to BANG ZOOM. And as for Basilisk, FUNi or ADV.
