...

I dunno, it needs that little extra to make it look worth seeing. I just can't put my finger on it.....

And why the hell is this on the UK side of the forums?

There's already a live action Kite. It's called La Femme Nikita.

I wonder just how much they'll stick to the original. >_>;
Either way, I think I'd see it.

Eh, I like watching live-action adaptations of anime. If they're relatively good, then I enjoy them (Death Note, Speed Racer), and if they're bad, I laugh at how cheesy they are (Fist of the North Star, The Guyver). Either way, I win.

Except for "Blood: The Last Vampire." That just made me die a little inside.

But I'm actually quite dubious of this adaptation. As somebody who was exposed to "Kite" back in 2004 at the tender age of 11, I can attest to the fact that they'd have to do a lot of butchering of the source material in order to do an American adaptation. They'd most likely have to adapt the edited version. And seeing how America has historically liked butchering things they adapt... well, we may very well be seeing a butchered version of a butchered cut of a decent-at-best anime. Boy, this sure sounds like FUN!

I know that's in the anime, but could you come up with a less degrading photo for the character, please? thanks. As for the budget and location, it could work, since it's not really a big production. But this really screams DTV to me. But yeah, the reason they're still shootin' in S. Africa is probably 'cus of Distant Horizons, which is based there. I didn't know they were still around, to be honest.

Romuska: Not to mention Hanna. Wink

Apollo-kun: The worst thing about LA Blood is it did have some potential, but then they cheapened out on the FX.

Just 12 mil? Even some indie films are produced for less than that!

I have to find a synonym, for interesting, because there has to be a proper word for this news. If they ca make even a 1/2 decent film for 12 mil, I'll be happy.

Even with a $300 mil budget, the cast and crew of Dragonball E would've still disappointed, so it's not all about budget for me.

Could be interesting to see how this turns out. A fair amount can be done for twelve million (unless it is out of Hollywood).

when it's done, it probably won't resemble kite at all for those of us who've seen the uncensored original. not unusual for a popular name to be taken for publicity's sake and the adaptation isn't really one.

I agree.
Also, who would really want an actual, uncensored live-action adaption of Kite? Even the creators didn't want the CP in the uncensored version.
