Guess it's not too early to be re-creating a tragic inccident like this into a movie and make money off the whole thing? Rolling Eyes

Confused

Can't say that I am excited about this film. Kinda tasteless if you ask me.

Whenever anything tragic happens, all anime except for cute schoolgirl comedies, and sometimes even those, must be pulled from the air and heavily edited or even completely redone to cleanse them of everything or so much as the mention of anything that may not considered cheerful, no matter how unrelated any of it is to the real world. Meanwhile, the news provides depressing saturation coverage of the actual events, and not long after that ends they start planning out the live action dramatizations to profit from others' real life suffering and deaths and continue rubbing it in for years to come. Stay classy, Japan...

I'll be honest, I'm kinda interested in this.

And to all the people who are calling this tasteless, I'm sorry but there are so so SO many other media based productions in this world that are in much worse taste this whole concept.

And it happened 3 years ago people, if you really think it's 'too soon' then you clearly have really strict standards for what is and isn't kosher for you.

So yeah, hopefully there will be something of genuine quality in this. Unless the movie is poorly made and has a bad message, I'd really save the 'bad taste' comments until then.

To be honest this type of movie is more needed to put a more positive spin to people with otaku type hobbies (doesn't have to be anime/manga, can be any type of otaku hobby.) Kind of like Train Man

i really do detest the way people attempt to make money out of tragedy, this is almost as bad as when they made the 2 movies about the Junko Furuta murder
don't have a problem if its something like a tribute in honour or something like that but true exploitative media is just wrong

We had a similar discussion yesterday during our Scripting Video class while talking about Pearl Harbor. The movie industry is all a business, people. No one cares about commemorating anything, it's all about the next big thing.

That said, I will keep an eye out for this movie, just to see what becomes of it.

Two wrongs don't make a right?

I'm not really concerned with the timing; it's more that the plot is really stock and sounds like movies we've all seen before, just with a somewhat recent event fueling it. It sounds like a cash-in to me, is all.
