I just gotta pop in and have a good laugh that the manager of Weekend Anime is named Dave Lister. Ha. Smegging funny! I have to wonder if he as an annoying customer named Arnold Rimmer. Or maybe they call the cash register Holly. Heh. Man, I'm guessing no one else who reads this is going to be a Red Dwarf fan.

Surely he was'nt refering to Teen Titans or Totally spies.."right"?

Hopefully not, since Totally Spies is produced in France.

Perhaps they have a mechanoid named Kryten for a stocker. Just for kicks they might have a cat too.

I can't believe this David Reed kid gave an interview about downloading fansubs.... Especially since he said he was downloading Fullmetal Alchemist since that show is licensed. He can get himself, his parents, and his whole anime club in trouble and have them blocked from any promos offered by anime distros directly towards anime clubs. David, any comments?

your right he just admitted to downloading a liscensed anime which plays on t.v that in itself is kinda bad but
he did it to a newspaper and they didn't even mention that it wasn't legal
i guess this shows how lenient companies are

Well, why the article was well researched, the writer might not realize what the guy was talking about. A lot of people outside the anime community don't realize what is actually available out there. And, the guy almost made it sould like he knew the person personally and it was a big favor for this person in Japan to tape it for him and add subtitles, but anybody from the anime community knows what he is talking about.

Think you really need to take that one with a pinch of salt. If the dude did download FMA, I don't recall him ever saying when he did it and no dates were given of when he obtained it.
At least he's honest enough to admit it, many wouldn't out of fear of persecution etc.

I find it amusing that the rocket rise of shoujo manga is being heralded as the possible savour of the U.S. comic book industry.

My brother found my a hardcopy of the article. Nice pics of FMA although not in color. Anyway, average article by someone who knows next to nothing about anime. That kid from Latin school seems annoying...
