...because the ignorantly hip Internet thing to do now is the "OMG it's so cool to hate ADV!" mentality! HA! HA!
(sorry, guys. I couldn't resist... )
Anyway, no one should be worried. We're talking about two stable companies pooling their resources together to create a better commodity in the anime market. As it was mentioned earlier, as long as ADV, Bandai, Geneon, CPM, VIZ, and the other smaller companies exist, there will be NO monopoly in the anime market. You can't have a monopoly as long as fair competition exists in the economy. The only way there can be an anime monopoly is if all of the companies merge together, and I'll sum up the chances of that happening in three words: Slim and None!

Wow. And I only thought fansub articles filled up posts this quickly.
Why this could be good for business:
+More money means more anime, more voice talent, and leads to other bigger, better, and badasser things.
+Possible nifty things with DVD's and Distribution (God forbid the product looks cool)
+Maybe a dispulsion (sp?) of the stereotype that FUNi is just a shounen fighting anime distributor *coughDBZYYHFMAcough*
(Btw, Haisekioh, no amount of talent could make DBGT look any better, not even David Lucas.)
Why this could be bad for business:
-Some people (VA's) may not like the idea of being sold and/or moving homebase to Minnesota, thus leaving the company.
-With the higher-ups being set for life, they may decide to leave and do whatever the hell they want, resulting in a top-down disaster
-The heads of Navarre thinking to themselves, "Hey, I wonder if I can run an anime distributor the same way I run my other business."

While I certainly hope this is true, it isn't a given that just because they were bought by another company, they will suddenly have access to tons more money then they did.

Ehhh... I sincerely doubt they intend to relocate FUNi and FUNi Studios.

I wouldn't worry if I were you. Moving FUNi would mean abandoning FUNi's headquarters as well as FUNi Studios (dubbing) and then would require either the construction of a new dubbing studio, or using another dubbing studio. Not to mention either forcing current employees to move, or replacing quite a few people.

Well they might change the name of FUNimation, to Anavarre.
Then again....
As long as FUNi keeps increasing their annual profits Navarre will/should leave well enough alone. The only change will be to who sits in the CEO chair, and who reports to whom. But those increases start tailing off, the claret will flow.

I feel like kicking myself for saying that. The Coconaugher familly owns FUNimation...
