Lol. Nope! Imagine how much more it'll cost to import it. Why did a mediocre anime get this sacred treatment?

That should be 7,350 yen, not 3,350 yen.

"...and includes the first three episodes from the series".
Still too expensive, however.

To be honest I don't see why this was never done from the start. The Japanese know there are legions of anime fans around the world, maybe this will be the start of a trend?
Let us just hope they hire native speaking translators for each language.

Because they make more money from licensing shows to overseas companies than they're likely to get from foreign sales of the Japanese DVD/Blu-ray release.

Define "start". Multiple subtitle tracks were not feasible with VHS release, maybe LaserDisc. R2/Region-Free DVD players were a lot higher in price before the invention of Bluray.
It was Bluray and the sharing of regions that has made including multiple subtitles a more likely event for Japanese.

I wonder who subbed it. Was it some official paid subber? Some random intern in the office, stolen fansubs? Will they be literal, liberal or just Engrish?

An Aniplex title with English subtitles? Not surprised. This is a growing trend for them.

I loved this series but not enough to pay Japanese prices. however, if a complete collection comes out at some point and if it doesn't Cost the earth, I might consider it.

for the english track, maybe aniplex USA. But for the others, I hope it was the same team as Black Rock Shooter.
Only extra fans of that (shitty?) show would buy BD at that prices. But probably most of it will wait for the complete collection.

so many better shows that deserve subtitles, why dog days?????
I would have imported ladies versus butlers on blu-ray, if they were subtitled, but dog days is a pass for me

Same for me, I would have imported that show if they were subtitled. Couldn't see why Dog Days would get subbed, I did not care for the first episode and did not bother to watch more of the series. From the responses here on the site, DD is not that good of a series.

Actually, I think Dog Days was a very good series. I just think some people were put off by its cutesiness, which is fair enough. I liked that aspect and I like how they used the fantasy elements to good effect.

I got the impression from others that it wasn't that great, of course not everyone is going to feel the same way about the series.
