Keep in mind, this is a collectible that will actually Increase in value over the years. Not just because of the age of the wine, but also the nerd factor. (Unless sparkling wine messes with the taste factor over long term storage, not too informed about that)
it's actually a sound investment. |

Now to buy this and Hello Kitty wine. Call some anime friends over. And have a party.

The sweet wines will probably make you feel like your head will split open so that a giant robot can emerge. Might as well call them FLCL demi-sec. urg. At least that is what sec and demi-sec wines do to me. Gotta wonder who the producer is? The fact that the body of the article describes these as "sparkling wine" rather than "champagne" makes me think it is from some random mass producer, and not from France. They could be Cremant de Bourgogne, which are from France, but I kind of doubt it. $624??? Yikes! A bottle of good Cremant de Bourgogne will cost you about $18. ---There better be Kristal in there for that price! (yeah, right. LOL) People will probably just buy these for the bottles, then leave them unopened on the counter with their other collectables until they explode, leaving a sticky mess everywhere. Champagne and Sparkling Wine needs to be properly stored to avoid this, but I don't see otaku displaying their collectable bottles in a dark wine cellar. ROFL Stupidest thing ever. Seriously?!?
What other kinds of crap are they gonna slap the Evangelion name onto next? I vote for Misato-branded condoms, or maybe a bed in the shape of the entry plug, that also doubles up as a bath in which you can have simulated eva battles........okay I may have gone too far with that one....... |

My vote would be for an Eva-themed capsule hotel, where each capsule is modeled after an entry plug, complete with multiple flat-panel displays and a pilot's seat for sleeping. I'm also guessing that about 90% of all of these bottles kept by collectors will in fact be eventually ruined, as indicated by an earlier poster. |

I think I'd have it the other way around. Between Rei and Asuka, I always felt Rei was the sweeter of the two. I'm not a wine drinker, but the bottles look pretty nifty. |

Buy one of these bottles, rent a Evangelion hotel room for one night, while watching Evangelion episodes?

I'm not sure of the actual producer, but the Animate website does list the country of origin as France. |
