Most AMVs suck that I've seen, but there are a couple great ones:
Perfect Blue-Perfect Drug (Nine Inch Nails): This is the best I've ever seen. Not only does the material match the sound of the track perfectly (as well as the lyrics), but it has amazing editing and scene placement. Its a very proffesional job, and alot better than most music videos (AMV or not) that I've seen. X movie-Du Hast (Rammstein): Another superbly made AMV. The song is a perfect fit to some of the film's imagery. Sailor Moon-a Weird Al parody on Jerry Springer: One of the funniest things I've ever seen. The whole thing is set up like an episode of Springer. I've never seen much of SM, but I still could see where many of the transexual implications etc. were coming from after looking at the characters. Great editing as well, with some real life shots of Springer mixed in with SM. The mortal combat RK one is great too. Very good pacing, and it matches the content to the song very well. |

Almost everything from Kusoyaro Productions is utterly worth your time. Especially "With Every Light"... artistic, emotional, and beautiful.

Yeah, Kusoyaro is great. I haven't seen With Every Light, but they did one of clips from Ghibli movies done to Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/The End that was utterly fantastic in every way. |

The AMV of Evangelion with the song "Engel" from Rammstein is pretty awesome. They even got the lips to synch up for the most part.
Also the Kare Kano video of "Far and Away" and a mix video with Blackmore's Night's "Wish You Were Here" tug on the heartstrings just a bit. Aluminum Studios puts out some pretty good stuff, too. |
