Congratulations! Can't wait for January to buy the premier issue! (If my local bookstore have it, I hope!)
Let's hope the magazine goes monthly instead of bi-monthly like Anime Insider. (And also void of technical errors like Anime Insider.) Also, if you are going to review anime series, please grade them instead of promoting them (like Newtype). The magazine will be a great way to lure new users to your site if they're not aware of ANN. In addition, will you be offering subscriptions? Best of luck to you; this looks like it's going to be a winner |

Gambare with the magazine deal.
Two questions though. Will ANN stop providing news to Animerica? Also, in the announcement it says,
I've wondered where that "most trusted" quote came from. Did you have a poll? chris keck |

They don't need a poll. ANN is omnipotent when it comes to anime news. Do not doubt them!!! |

It's just a tagline. A subjective and qualificative statement. Even if we held a poll, it would be biased by vitrue of being held on this site, and then it would be easy to disagree with the proper method to turn statistics about a subjective qualitative question into a statement.... |

No, they will be free to continue using the newsfeed as long as they want. This of course may understandably make them chose to stop using the newsfeed. -t |

Don't hold your breath. There is no such thing as a magazine being "void" of technical error. Time, Newsweek, Entertainment Weekly - these magazines all have typos and spelling errors and make the occasional gaffe. You can have 10 people look at the same page and one mistake will still slip through. While I'm sure PA will be a good magazine, setting your hopes this high is a guaranteed letdown. |

Great news, i ll be looking for your magazine.
I ve worked for an anime magazine myself and i know it takes a lot of work to make a good publication. But i have high hopes in your proyect, because if you have made the best anime news site, why you couldn´t make the best magazine... |

To reiterate what I posted earlier, I don't expect to see a "perfect" magazine, because that is impossible. What I expect ANN and PA to do is produce a good, quality reading material that doesn't have the feel that it was rushed in production. I have been very disappointed with Anime Insider lately because their last two issues had the feel that they were rushed in production, and I know that Wizard Entertainment can do a much better job, as they have with their other magazines (Wizard, InQuest, etc.). I can tolerate a few gaffes here and there, as long as the overall quality of the material is good, I will still read it.
In addition, I definitely know that ANN and PA will NOT produce a magazine designed for 12-year-olds. |

Nice announcement.
I can’t say that I’m surprised about this though. Haven’t you been toying with this idea before? I could’ve sworn there was a discussion topic about this a few years back… Good luck with the magazine. |

Anyway, I didn't think there was enough room for another anime magazine in an already crowded niche market, except maybe one that specializes in a specific genre of anime, but taking an existing magazine and making it better is another matter entirely. That's a very positive development.

Wait, is two separate magazines or is the existing Proto getting a name change?
