Okay,
so I was talking to a friend... who swears up and down that he saw Digicharat being advertised in a local bookstore as being on sale in the near future... Now, I _know_ that Synch-Point doesn't have the rights to the anime series... ... and I _know_ that Digicharat didn't originate as a manga series... ... but did I somehow miss the boat on this one, and suddenly someone has the rights to something digicharat? quoth my friend: "there were two signs proclaiming the emminent publishing of digi charat. no mention of manga or dvd. for reference, one sign was lodged under the dvd collection and another was lodged under the beginning of the manga section." Or is my friend just being some sort of moron who doesn't know what he's talking about? ;) (PS, if anyone lives nearby, the store in question is waldenbooks in the mccain mall in north littlerock, in the manga/anime dvd section) |

Wait, I must have been under a rock or something. What happened to Synch-point's license? Did it expire or did they sell it or did they just lie? I remember them running that VA contest a while back and parading the girl around that won. Was all of that really all just for a store commercial?

This link came from CB @ AoDVD:
http://forums.animeondvd.com/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=24&topic_id=7458&mesg_id=7458&listing_type=search ... well, I'll be... quoting Eric Searleman (from Viz): There seems to be some interest and some confusion concerning the upcoming Viz edition of Di Gi Charat. As the editor of the book, I'd like to answer some of the questions. Yes, Di Gi Charat is a bookstore exclusive. You can find it at Waldenbooks, Borders and Brentano's starting in mid-January. Six months after release, each volume will be distributed to comic book shops. It's a compilation book featuring artwork by Koge-Donbo and others.FYI: Koge-Donbo is female. All four volumes will be published quarterly and printed in the original Japanese format. The price is $12.95 US/$20.95 CANADA. Page count is roughly 160-168 per book. If there are any other questions, please feel free to e-mail directly at Viz. Or, if you wish, continue posting here at animeondvd. I'll be checking in from time to time. Wow. That was unexpected. |

Hmm, cool. I think I'll go get that soon, assuming the first one is out.

Darn it, I was just at Walden today and they didn't know anything about it. Hope it doesn't go a step further and be a regional exclusive. I knew I should have stoped at Borders.
Hmmmm, thin Viz might have the anime rights too? This was a well guarded secret it seems to maybe the anime is too? Probably wishfull thinking. Emerje |

[EDITED by Cookie -- Sorry, no links to bootlegging sites. This includes scanilations. It's the same reason we don't allow linking to fansub sites.] this guy's from my town, he translates Digicharat and a bunch of other mangas into english. |
