I wanted to get an Escaflowne box set for christmas, but I'm not sure which one to get. Myself like every othere escaflowne fan I'm sure hated the Fox Kids dubbed verson. I prefer to watch the original jappanesse verson, but sometimes if I want to watch it in friends, or if I'm lazy lol, I may wanted to watch it in english. I was thinkng of either getting escaflowne the perfect collection cause it has the movie to, or escaflowne the complete collection that came out in 2009. But I'm not sure which one to get, I want an uncut verson of the episodes in the correct order, so I can enjoy watching in english and Jappanesse. Whiuch one gives you a better uncut verson, so it still stick to the original Jappanesse style? I don't realy care btw if the perfect collection comes with the movie, I just want a box set that gives you the best quality, and best quality of uncut episodes. Also I am not willing to spend more than $40, so whichever box set yyou think is better, can you also suggest a cheep place I can get it from, preferably a Canadian site, but if it's U.S. that's fine to.
Thank you (:

You have nothing to worry about if you're getting any boxed set from a reputable dealer. The Fox Kids version was never released on VHS or DVD, so any version out there is guaranteed to be the full, uncut, official dual-language version.

If you don't care about the movie, there seem to be plenty of good deals on this release.

There was four full set releases, three of which are out of print. The first one was the Limited Edition set, the second was the Perfect Collection which included the movie, the third is the anime legends releases.

The Super Legends one is probably far easiest to get and contains the same 8 discs that are in every other set. It is also in a much slimmer case than Anime Legends version. Only the Perfect Collection has 9 discs since it included the movie.

Both Rightstuf and Amazon have decent prices for the set btw.

The movie can always be purchased on its own and is available in Blu-ray if that matters to you. To note, the movie does not go along with or continue the series, they are both separate.
