Yeaaa! Two hour drive to a theatre instead of 10 or 12. Lookin' forward to the big screen.
Wonder how many will be in attendance in KC? Last time anime came to visit a local theatre where I live about 18 mos. ago there were only 20 people in the audience. All those safeguards about protecting the ticketholder, theatre, movie promoter....what was I expecting....hundreds?? |

Shit. Closest one to me is Greensboro, NC...pretty much no way in hell I'll be able to see it if these are the only screenings.
Hoping there are more to be announced. |

My thoughts exactly. When the first one was in theatres, they had one of the locations at the Brattle Theatre in Boston. I'm very surprised it's not on this list. |

Train ride in to New York for me at this point. At least Gantz is closer.

Southlake 14, eh? That's... under an hour away!
Normally I prefer watching anime in Japanese with English subtitles, but I have to say this may be the only case in recent memory in which the dub may be preferable thanks to the ridiculous Engrish. My concern is if the color will look right. Many people mentioned everything looked too yellow in the theatrical version of 1.0 that Funimation distributed, and I hope the same isn't the case for 2.0. Or, for that matter, for the upcoming matinee showings of 1.0. |

That's it? Can't be, Eleven Arts said they were hoping for "70 to100" screens. If not, then that's pathetic. Even the Gantz Live-action movie on the 20th of January (a day before EVA 2.0) is going to be in more theaters then that. Please add more venues.
I have to say, I'm also disappointed that they didn't partner with NCM Fathom Events. Too bad. -moose |

I'd go to the Austin showing if it were a week earlier (or on a Friday or Saturday). But I can't drive 6 hours on a Wednesday during a week that I have classes.
EDIT: Looks like I can make a slightly shorter drive to Dallas on the weekend instead, woohoo! |

I never get to see these damn limited releases. If it won't be available everywhere, it shouldn't be available anywhere.

I love living in Virginia. It's so godamn retarded.
In my seven years here, not once have I caught any sort of limited cinema release in any city. Not even Nashville. |

I was lucky enough to catch the Bleach movie and Eureka Seven: GnStYl in theatres. Pretty sure both DN films and the 1st Evangelion were playing near me as well, but I either didn't know about them being in theatres when they came out.
I'm apparently not getting the Gantz live-action movie so I'm pretty bummed over that, but I'm at least hoping that this one will get more screens. Trying to get Summer Wars set up in my city with GKids ATM, and assuming Redline gets a theatre release, hopefully will be able to see that one as well. But I'm rambling. Just hope this gets more screenings. |

Since Funi is handling this movie, I presume that it'll be their dub. If that's the case, I'll wait for the BD release. Hmm... SF's Japantown would be a good place to have the film in its native language, but I don't have much confidence that Funi would agree with me. Well, eventually theater propaganda should indicate what the audio happens to be.
