The app is pretty nice. Can't wait to see it in English.

So now that the article has been updated to say "dispatches" rather than releases, that pretty much just means news and press releases will be simultaneously posted in multiple languages, right? Disappointing.

Not sure how many people are aware, but Monthly Comic Zenon debuted in October, and as far as I know, it's the only manga anthology being fully published digitally as well as in print. Anyone in the world is free to purchase it. It's only in Japanese, but I was able to set up an account and buy the first two issues with little to no difficulty:

simultaneous releases worldwide.

Is it too optimistic for me to interpret the word "worldwide" without qualification?
Perhaps these releases will indeed be available anywhere in the world, though one does not currently expect all their titles to have such an unrestricted availability.

Man, I am super happy about this but it also really makes me sad.
I would have much rather this been for Afternoon for the return of Genshiken.

Also, does this mean they are actually releasing manga in english simultaiously? Or will they just have all they site and information on titles in english, but you can't actually read them? Sort of like the American/Japanese Jump site:

Either way it will be cool. I love going to Japanese magazine sites, but monthly ones are not as fun as weekly ones. I am really glad they have this English Jump site. They even provide previews of new series that premere in the magazine in Japan.

Ugh. Still a bummer that it is not afternoon though. I really wanted to read Genshiken 2. I almost broke and subscribed to it, but I am already subscribed to Weekly Jump and Jump SQ so my wallet can't handle anymore.

Noice! I hope this spurs some action with other magazine sites. That would just be too cool. (Heck, call me a dreamer, but this could lead to other worldwide manga phenomena.) Really, this is great; I'll probably check it out when it's launched. (*prays for limited to no Engrish lol*)

I wish them luck~ Lord knows, if it turns out well, they'll be getting a lot of visitors. ($$$ also obligatory, xD)

Maybe if it goes well, Kodansha will do the same thing with Morning 2, Afternoon and Evening.

If they start to publish tankobons in english simultaneosly to the japanese than it would be quite a revoltuion.

The latter. The entire site will be available in english (and other languages). There is no mention of simultaneous releases.

The actual distribution might be done by the manga streaming site they're setting up along with a huge amount of the other publishers that do manga.

If the Ghost in the Shell releases are any indication, it's gonna be....mixed.

They removed the Lesbian Boat Sex Scene in the first Manga, yet kept nudity in Man Machine interface. Um, double standards much?
