I recently watched the first couple of episodes of this anime. The plot doesnt seem to be too exciting so i was wondering what some of the other viewers of this anime thought about. I think its interesting, but i ont want to watch something thats boring.

The show starts very slow, but after that, it gets more and more interesting as plot and character development progresses.
The climax of the series is IMO opinion around episode 24 or something (seen it a long time ago).
Dont let the slow start and the possibly annoying male lead keep you from enjoying this series. i recommend it.

I found it very tough going for the first 7 episodes (the only reason I stuck with it was because I was watching Death Note and GitS:SAC on [adult swim]'s video portal week to week, and I figured 'why not watch one more crappy show to get me warmed up for the good ones').
However, with episode 8 Eureka 7 starts delving into the backstory of the characters and the world, and things get more interesting. Then in episodes 11 and 12, the story gets kicked into high gear, and I was hooked (only to be crushingly disappointed when [as] stopped running the show online a few episodes later).
So I would advise that you at least stick it out to episode 12. It's a big time commitment, I know, but if you find you like it, you'll have another 38 episodes of the good stuff (well, 37 at least - the final episode doesn't ruin what came before, but it does jump the shark spectacularly).

Don't be fooled. Eureka Seven is absolutely boring. The highlights in the anime are spread throughout the 50 episodes. More often than you would like, you will find yourself saying, "Why did I just waste my time watching 22 mins of this?"
Contrary to what I just said, the highlights of the anime is the reason why Eureka Seven has high ratings. When the plot starts to pick up, it picks up. When the plot goes down south because of a needless filler, it goes down south. Eureka seven has many needless filler episodes. Now don't get me wrong. Each episode has something important, but there is no reason for Eureka Seven to Drag on for 50 episodes. IMO they could have combined those fillers. In order to watch this anime you must have patience and get used to hearing "Eureka" & "Renton" screamed all the time.
IMO, it sounds like you don't have patience so I suggest watching the movie. I forgot (anime is old) but I believe the movie is like a summary of all 50 episodes and then it adds its own little twist.

Or you could instead refuse to be fooled by ShinobiX's boundless arrogance. Honestly though if you can't handle a slow paced show this isn't for you. If you can it's a great show and one that i thoroughly enjoyed. I guess that makes me a retard by youre standards eh ShinobiX. Since anyone who has a different opinion is obviously either retarded or a lying fanboy. Some of us happen to "like" shows that waffle you know? Still for me this series didn't really get going until episode 15 - 20 or so. Youre call E7 is one of those where yould just have to speculate if u wanna accumulate.

I'm not exactly sure if you could call character-driven episodes "needless filler" really. One thing that some of my friends seemed to like about Eureka Seven was the character development in the beginning. It's a show that takes patience to enjoy, but if you can sit through actionless, character-driven episodes, then you'd probably like it. Don't let the giant robots fool you -- the anime really isn't as action-packed as you might think. There is a good amount of action(especially the second half), but don't watch the anime just waiting to see giant robots beating up one another.
Personally, I rather liked the "needless filler" episodes, because they actually add some extra dimension to the characters, and to be honest, I don't think the anime would work without them.

If after a few episodes Eureka Seven doesn't work for you then I advise you to drop it and look for something you find more exciting. It is my favorite anime and I have watched it many times so I can tell you that it is in no hurry to divulge the plot or do "exciting stuff". The main plot doesn't start moving until episode 29. So my advice to you is find something else to do with your time. 50 episodes is quite a commitment for something you feel lukewarm about.

I had very similar feelings when I first watched Eureka & - almost dropped it after the first 5-6 episodes. That would have been a huge mistake - it was slow starting out but begins to big up quickly there after. As others have said - once they begin to delve more into the back story it becomes very enjoyable.
Keep watching!

No, actually, it's a complete reimiagining. The movie and the series are nothing alike.

From what I remember the movie is an alternate universe. At least that what I got from it.

I would give it a shot. I also thought Eureka would be boring, and I found it really enjoyable once the show hiw eps 15/16. It is not too bad for such a long series. Despite the pacing, it has so many excellent moments.

I dunno about that... Out of all the shows out there ever, Flag is easily the single most boring anime ever made. Yet, it's got a helluva cult following on here.
Case in point, apparently, plenty of people want to watch something that's boring.
@TC: Don't listen to half of these test tube babies. Eureka Seven is plenty entertaining, even given its usual slow pace. Just be prepared for a doozie of a finale.

lol did I hurt ur feelings lol. Sure does sound like it. As if I give a fudge. Anyway moron u do realize u just repeated more than half of what I said. Next time u start shit at least don't repeat what ur "opponent" says moron.
aka this:
"Honestly though if you can't handle a slow paced show this isn't for you. If you can it's a great show and one that i thoroughly enjoyed."
equals this dumb ass:
"...When the plot starts to pick up, it picks up. When the plot goes down south because of a needless filler, it goes down south...In order to watch this anime you must have patience and get used to hearing "Eureka" & "Renton" screamed all the time. "
Get a life and check yo self fool lol. Well you did call urself a moron which I find odd, but in this case I guess it's true. Also, I should note I hardly name call. And even if my uneducated comments piss you off to this much extent then don't blame me for your arrogance, stupidity, or whatever you want to call urself. Personally I think name calling is redundant here, but like they say, "When in Rome, do as the Romans do." I don't usually(meaning rarely I do, but well look who started it) post to outright call someone a a prick as you just have, but this was a special case. Also, really? For all your haughtiness you can't even make the simple connection between patience and slow paced...lol wow. You know I just edited this and bolded it for you. You should thank me. Now I am being a prick lol Some more, highlights and like. There you go.

oh well thats true. You probably like slow character development. However, Soma does not. At least the way E7 does it. If I recall, the first episodes were about showing us who these people are. Setting us up for the main event. Basically boring background info thats not essential to the "here and now" plot. It sounds like he wants to watch an anime where its action pact, fast paced , ur thrown right into the climax and character development occurs through the numerous twists and turns. He doesn't want to watch Renton learning how to ride a bike. He wants to see Renton actually riding the bike and then evolve from their. Eureka & does not accomplish this at all. Then again, what anime he's looking for...I could be wrong.
