Blue Seed Beyond - Invasion From Within (Like the series, but disappointed in the storyline. Had the chance to be interesting, but ignored the opportunity. B-)
Hybrid DVD |
Cowboy Bebop: The Movie [Special Edition] (A solid "A". Tight, well animated, and the sountrack is awesome.)
Hybrid DVD |
Infinite Ryvius (TV) (You might be tempted to call this whole series "Gundam-Seed Lite" if it didn't predate that series. Expected more, but not bad ( not great, either!) B-/C+)
Hybrid DVD |
Infinite Ryvius - Vital Guarder |
Hybrid DVD 2 |
InuYasha - Down the Well (Everyone has a hobby -- this seems to be mine ... Long on story and character development. Good action. (and I LIKE the weekly monsters ... ) Intelligent female characters paired with bishie boys with a big katanna (or kazaana's - depending ...) Rumiko Takashi hit a home-run with this series. )
Hybrid DVD 1 |
InuYasha - A Girl's Best Friend (Mom .... Look what followed me home ...)
Hybrid DVD 2 |
InuYasha - The Thunder Brothers (The role of annoying talking demi-animal is taken by Shippo.)
Hybrid DVD 4 |
InuYasha - Secret of the New Moon (It is TRUE blonde have more fun? Ask our young hero during any new moon ... PS. Kikyo's back. Look Busy!)
Hybrid DVD 5 |
InuYasha - Deadly Liasons (Zombie-Miko ex-girlfriends; a villian who changes more than Madonna & Michael Jackson together and a Perverted Monk with a Hoover in his hand. What????)
Hybrid DVD 6 |
InuYasha - Secrets of the Past (Kikyo, Inu-Yasha's zombie/miko ex (and Kagome's past life experience!) puts some major kinks in a budding relationship. Kagome pulls an "Eric Cartman" and goes home ...)
Hybrid DVD 7 |
InuYasha - Kikyo's Wandering Soul (Bad Zombie Miko. Somebody call the Springer Show or Riki Lake! On the plus side, this edition introduces Sango.)
Hybrid DVD 8 |
InuYasha - Origin of the Sacred Jewel (That darned Naraku - pesky as ever.)
Hybrid DVD 9 |
InuYasha - Scars of Battle (Not to be outdone by the other's Sango adds her story to the mix creating what I like to think of is "Mushashi's Creek" or "Sengoku 90210".)
Hybrid DVD 10 |
InuYasha - Into the Miasma (Naraku gets a new look. Maybe is IS Michael Jackson!)
Hybrid DVD 11 |
InuYasha - Swords of Destiny (Looks like Inu-Yasha isn't the only Hanyo in town: meet Jininji who lives at home with his mom. . )
Hybrid DVD 12 |
InuYasha - Den Of Wolves (Koga, Koga, Koga ...)
Hybrid DVD 13 |
InuYasha - The Wind and the Void ("Say hello to my little Fiend" - Wind Sorceress Kagura. If she isn't problem enough, Tetsusaiga gets chomped and broken by another of Naraku's demon spawn. )
Hybrid DVD 14 |
InuYasha - Broken Fang (Inu-Yasha has some really bad days ...)
Hybrid DVD 15 |
InuYasha - Heart of the Beast (... More bad days with major "Visene" moments. Tetsusaiga is repaired, but now Inu-Yasha can't get the @#!@% thing to work right. Very not good.)
Hybrid DVD 16 |
InuYasha - Shattered Memories (Things go from bad to worse for Inu-Yasha. Talk about paying back Karmic debts!)
Hybrid DVD 17 |
InuYasha - The Demon Within (Inu-Yasha finally pays off that Karmic debt he seems to have been working off and gets a bonus - a power up and new attack. Bakuryuuha.)
Hybrid DVD 18 |
InuYasha - The Way to Wisdom (On the road again. Places to go, shards to find ...)
Hybrid DVD 19 |
InuYasha - Curse of the Dark Priestess (Never trust a fat guy who talks to trees. Then there's Tsubaki, Kikyo's old 'friend". Very nasty gal.)
Hybrid DVD 20 |
InuYasha - Double Trouble (Tsubaki continues to cause more trouble. Not a nice person.)
Hybrid DVD 21 |
InuYasha - Special Limited Edition Set 1 (It's a good thing I'm a dedicated collector or I'd be really smoked the way VIZ packaged the first box set of the series. No added features such as interviews, bloopers, 'making of' additions. Although the box is nice, it's nothing that special sitting on your self for the money. About the only neat thing VIZ did was include a cute 2004 calendar in a CD jewel case (big spenders!) with the set. They'll have to better than this is they want my IY box set money in the future, especially since I'm collecting the regular episode releases. Hey! How about somebody to come wash my windows with purchase of the upcoming box set?)
Hybrid DVD 1-3 |
InuYasha the Movie 2: The Castle Beyond the Looking Glass (Interesting story and terrific action. And the 'kiss', can't forget the 'kiss'... Pucker up, Fluffy. It's about @#$%^ time!)
Hybrid DVD NA |
InuYasha the Movie 3: Swords of an Honorable Ruler (Amazing film. Even if you don't like the series, you like this film!)
Hybrid DVD |
InuYasha the Movie: Affections Touching Across Time (Worthy first movie effort for the franchise. Story wanders a bit for the western audience, but that's good news for fans. I give it a A-/B+)

Hybrid DVD 1-3 |
The Legend of the Dog Warriors: The Hakkenden - Box Set (Great Story and well-voiced by NA and Japanese casts. This short series suffers artistically. Too many 'cooks' due to production difficulties. Worth watching and owning in spite of the artist's firedrill. Classic.)

Samurai X: Reflection (A - Some people don't like this epilog to the Kenshin saga, but I'm not one of them. Sad, beautiful. Keep the tissues handy.)
Hybrid DVD |
Samurai X: The Motion Picture (A+ Amazing. Kurosawa could have directed this anime.)
Hybrid DVD |
Samurai X - Trust & Betrayal Director's Cut (A+ - Fabulous animation, story and voicing. A must for your collection.)
Hybrid DVD |
Spirited Away (At the risk of being stoned, shot and hung, I just wasn't impressed. Not bad family fare. Good animation, but just didn't grab me after all the hype. There's better Ghibli out there. Rent Mononoke Hime or Grave of the Fireflys instead.)
Hybrid DVD |
Tokyo Godfathers (A+ This is what good anime is all about. It should be in everyone's collection.)
Sub-only DVD |

Hybrid DVD |

Hybrid DVD |
Ushio & Tora - Complete Collection (Whatta Hoot! Series is LOTS of fun to watch.)
Hybrid DVD |
Voices of a Distant Star (Interesting film. Expected a bit more but not terribly disappointed. Perhaps it's because I'm an action fan at heart ... Definately recommended, however for story and artistic integrity. )
